Old member finally coming out... story of my true barn find.

At 74 I'm on the fence with what to do, as I have some health issues. Though I've restored a lot of cars over 45 years in the hobby I'd have to farm out all the work now on this one. I'm down to 1 other car, a '69 Olds Cutlass (ducks and runs) that's 95% done after almost 5 years of work. I'm...

Old member finally coming out... story of my true barn find.

Verified the 7th VIN digit is G (St. Louis) and the original color is F4 "Light Green Poly" ... looks more like Olive green, I think about half of the Mopars were that color, my old '71 Fury III driver was "Sherwood Green", the same color pretty much. Good color to blend in and hide from the...

Decoding a very rusty crusty fender tag...

Thanks all, and Mark, you have better eyes than I do for sure! Will get the tag off and see what's what hopefully. Pretty sure the color is this, there's some good spots of original paint on the firewall. Not what I'd choose, but who's complaining.

Old member finally coming out... story of my true barn find.

Thanks all! No NYC barns here, we're in the Southern Tier of NY 3 hrs from that city TG! West of the Catskills and not far from the PA border actually. The barn is a good dry one, but it was a NY car after all so has the typical NY rust, floors, lower quarters, trunk... but still solid in some...

Old member finally coming out... story of my true barn find.

... no, not that way lol. Been a member for about 11 years since when I first got a '64 Polara, and other B-bodies beginning with my first vintage car, a '62 Polara 500 convert in 1979. But mostly since then about 15 C-body Mopars and 4 A-bodies have graced my garage over that time. Now I was...

Decoding a very rusty crusty fender tag...

...from a '70 Charger R/T V-code according to the several VINS. Mostly unreadable, is it best to remove it to access the back for tracing or reading? What would be the least damaging way to remove it? the screw heads are basically rusted to the point of unusable. It's certainly not good enough...

OK in my defense I was not aware that phone #s were verboten. Many websites permit them, now I see not allowed here.
