The AVS2 carbs are a great carb, but I think the 800 is too much carb for the 383 in my own opinion it's easier to over carb than under carb. I have a 650 AVS2 on a mild built 440, I'm running a 600 lift hydraulic roller cam with 440 source aluminum heads, Edelbrock performer RPM intake, 650...
The 650 has smaller Ventures than the 800 which gives a quicker Excelleration than the 800. Don't get me wrong the 800 is a great carb but the 650 is better for the street which I have already proven to a few guys with basically the same engine but with bigger carbs. For one the engine won't run...
I tried both AVS 2's, the 650 first then the 800 on my 68 RT 4 speed mild built 440 and the 650 performed so much better than the 800 I sold the 800. Bottom end all the way through top end the 650 pulled harder than the 800. I made a couple of changes to the 650, one I changed the springs from...
The 650 AVS 2 is a perfect carb for your 383, I'm running the 650 AVS2 on a mild built 440 Four speed car. Engine has aluminum heads hydraulic roller cam Edelbrock performer RPM intake the 650 AVS2 and stock exhaust manifolds. Out of the box performance is fantastic bolt it on set your idle and...
I have a mild built 440 and I'm running the stock HP exhaust manifolds and she runs very strong. If your car is going to be a streetcar and never see the strip don't waste your money on headers. For one they are prone to leak and the HP gain just isn't worth it especially for a streetcar.
I have for sale two 2 1/2 inch DynoMax mufflers in very good condition, Dynomax part #17513, two 2 1/2 inch flowmaster tail pipes and two 2 1/2 inch chrome tips in very good condition. These came off a 68 Coronet R/T. Located in Zip 13076. Local pickup or buyer pays shipping. $200 for everything...
After a couple of calls to Passion and Brewers it was determined that the finish on the fly wheel after being resurfaced is too smooth creating a slip and grab condition. New flywheel on order along with a new clutch as it's glazed over.
Posting for a buddy, 67 Barracuda 383 4 speed has a bad vibration taking off from a dead stop and only at low RPM shift into 2nd higher RPM and it starts to go away 3rd and 4th no vibration. Had the tranny rebuilt and clutch, pressure plate and bearing are all new. Vibration is so bad it shakes...
How do you like your Dyno Max Super Turbo mufflers? I just bought a set 3 inch along with 3 inch flow master tail pipes and 3 inch tips. Going to install this Friday
I just bought a set of 3 inch Dyno Max Super Turbo mufflers and 3 inch flow master tail pipes going to put them on this Friday, will check back after they are installed
I have decided to go to the track for the last test and tune just to see what the car will do. They run 1/8 mile at the local track. I'm running BFG Radial TA's 275/60/15" on 15X10 rims. What's a good tire pressure to start out with. 68 Coronet RT mild built 440 4 speed Dana 60 w 3:54's.
I use either the 51515 or the 51521, I put less than a 1k miles on the car a year so using the short filter doesn't bother me, but the longer one does have more filter element. Before I put the car away, I change the oil and filter and use the short filter, drive it for about a month then change...
I took your advice and bought the Carter 3672 pump. Got it installed yesterday and started it up today, WTF 15 psi, I'm going back to the one I had on there just going to have to live with 7 psi
My bad that's not the number of the Carter I tried, I did research the M3672 and picked one up today. Trying to find a 90 degree so I can get it mounted
