Wow thanks I would never have guessed speedo cable that's good to know. So there's fluid in there? Clutch fluid? That 3rd pic I think is a cover off the bottom for the clutch would be my guess. It's right in front of that linkage for the shifter.

Well you're right thanks! Being under there has led to some other concerns I hope you can help with. I will post pictures. In the 1st picture you'll see the housing where the shift linkage goes is pretty wet on the bottom. Right to the rear of this housing is a fitting as seen in the 2nd picture...
