Good friend of mine worked 20 years for a PPG Platinum dealer and now works for PPG themselves as a rep. Whatever you use, go with a name brand manufacturer, whether it PPG, Dupont, BASF. They make off brands, Omni, Nason, etc.. But do your research, many of the base or single stage won't have...
What airport is letting you fill a car at the pump cause that's illegal as heck. I'm not gonna start an argument but I know many people who fly, also know a few people that work at BP refinery, AV gas is not the same octane rating as car gas. It's designed to burn at high altitudes, so it does...
Oil viscosity will depend on mileage of motor and what clearances the motor has. If it's a standard build, 10w/30 to 20w/50 will work. You're going to get a 100 different opinions. I run 20w/50 and never had and issue.
My friend is a rep for PPG and been doing it for 25 years. He worked for a Platinum PPG dealer now for PPG itself. Here's the true answer. Greed and EPA regulations. PPG raises prices when oil goes up, yet never has a price degrease when oil goes down. And now a days most are water borne paints...
I recently have been selling every spare part I have. Tired of the stuff just sitting on a shelf when someone may be able to use it. My car is restored, so other than it getting wrecked, I won't need the parts. So a lot of 71 Plymouth parts available if anyone needing anything. Sheet metal is...
On a couple occasions I've completely substituted the oil for tranny fluid and let the vehicle idle for an hour or more to help clean the motor. And it does clean it. Never had an issue.
Years ago I used a can of Mopar rallye wheel paint and it was too light compared to an original 71 wheel I had. I ended up going to a PPG dealer and getting paint mixed and it was much closer in color.
I've used cheap cork dry with great results. Tried Felpro rubber, which seemed hard. One sealed, one leaked. Replaced it with another Felpro rubber and it sealed. I'd say it doesn't matter, either cork or rubber.
72 RR valance w/cutouts $650.
Prefer local pickup, northern ohio close to Toledo, 43410. May meet part way. Solid and pretty straight. Sanded to bare metal to show there is no major damage. Has a cheap rustoleum paint on it.
PM me or text 419-355-3651 but do not call me first. Won't answer a...
Nice 72 fender. $300. Front lower area looks likes body filler on back side thru small holes but there doesn't appear to be a dent. People loved drilling holes and spreading filler. I can sand down and weld holes for free if preferred. Look at the pics good please. I have a couple more that...
Just use wax and grease remover or Dawn dish soap. That's all you need. Don't put any fuels or chemicals on the paint. You may not like what it'll do to the finish.
WTB Camshaft 474/280 Mopar Performance 4452993 big block. The big block 474/280 cam, either with lifters or not. Looking for new or almost no run time. Thanks
I'm no cooling expert. I started with a 180* with my sixpack, it ran good. I had a radiator problem and at that time I changed to a 195*, per the sixpack tuning guides suggestion. My car runs good, plugs are an excellent color, idles, starts even when hot. But it seem hot under the hood. Is the...
Run them. The BFG's on my vette are from 2005 and I have zero fear of driving them anywhere, the bias ply WideTrac on my Roadrunner are from 1980 and I have zero fear of driving it. You just need to keep your tires inspected. The company I work for, we have a hundred of trucks on the road, half...
It's time to replace my tires on my 71 RR. I need some pics from you all. I'm using the factory 15x7 rallye, going with BFG's. I'll be putting 245/60 on the front. I thing the 235's look a little small. For the rear I can't decide between a 275/60 or 255/60. Currently I have bias G-60 front...
