how do you get the speedometer assembly out of the dash? Does the lower dash padding come off or is it glued on? I have the switch panel mostly off but seems to be stuck on the padding. I took out every screw that was visible on the dash. What am I missing?
Pertronix with the stock ignition coil. At idle with the lights on it goes pretty close to D on the amp meter. Whether revving the engine or at idle its only 12.2 volts. Amp meter will get closer to center with the lights off. No dimming of the lights whether it's high or low beams. Pretty sure...
Ok after shoehorning myself under the dash(I'm 6'4 230lbs) I somehow got my hand to the ammeter and jiggled it a little and the dash light came on. So I managed to get a socket on the nut and tightened it a little. I would love to take the dash apart and clean all the connections back there but...

I am planning a 3 hour drive to the Adirondack Nationals the Thursday after Labor day and decided to do some maintence before the long drive. The alternator needed replacing as it came up short on a bench test.Battery tested good. So I replaced the alternator, belts, battery terminal ends...

How are the rear armrest panels? Need a set to mount speakers in. Are they the same as the 69's?Also interested in the driver side window and the vents on both sides. Is the steering wheel in good shape? Was it a big block car? Thanks, Anthony
I'm really starting to miss my Chevelle. I cannot believe the prices of this crap. I could part this car out for 30k apparently. Someone at a show last offered me 800 for the rear armrest panels.
Looking for a console for a bucket seat/auto on column car. Doesn't need to be original, just something that fits and I can put some speakers in. I can paint or cover it to match but interior is light blue. Need some cup holders! Thanks for any help.

My name is AJ and I am new to the forum but not to old cars. I most recently sold my 1971 Chevelle SS Convertible(clone) 2 years ago to fund my restaurant. Before that I owned a 73 Cuda 440 with pistol grip, 1986 Grand National with 425HP to the wheels and 2 1989 Turbo Trans Ams. One with 10k...
