Torque Converter pad depth below bell housing

Okay, I did not see it in the manual. I guess that wraps it up, then. I appreciate it :)

Torque Converter pad depth below bell housing

Yes, I asked for distance from the face of the bellhousing to the mounting pad on the converter. Munroe says a half inch, but I have seen more than one post that gave numbers closer to 3/4" which I suspect were guesses. I was curious to see if anyone had actually measured one and I appreciate...

Torque Converter pad depth below bell housing

Does anyone have an actual pad depth below the bell housing mounting surface when the converter is properly seated? Munroe, in his book, says 0.500" is the depth. Online I have seen people state that it should be more like 0.70-.75". I am not sure what mine is at the moment but I only have...

Ported vs manifold vacuum advance solved!!!

Actually, the guy is correct but it can be difficult to set up manifold vacuum advance when running a lot of initial advance and many don't have the patience or understanding to do it. Ported advance came along when emissions first raised its head. Too much initial advance increase NOX (NO2)...

    Synthetic brake fluid, OK?

DOT 5 is silicone fluid. It does not mix with conventional fluid. It is a pain in the neck to use and I don't think it is used much any more-maybe in show cars that don't get driven much? DOT 5.1 is conventional fluid and will mix with 3 or 4.

Rear Spring Selection for '72 Satellite Wagon with 440

I agree completely. Also, I have never found any of my cars to be as light as was commonly reported. I always seemed to be about 10% heavier than the numbers floated around.

ckessel. That is a good idea. I'm pretty sure I have a friend that has a set of scales. I used to have a set but I sold them when I got tired of laying on the floor all the time :)

Rear Spring Selection for '72 Satellite Wagon with 440

Triplegreen 500, I'm sorry to be so late but I really appreciate your comments. I really like your wagon! I like to hear from guys that actually drive their cars. With a little modern technology, these old cars drive better than they ever did. Thanks for the GN compliment. I have two-one I...

Rear Spring Selection for '72 Satellite Wagon with 440

My son saw it here at Christmas three years ago https://barnfinds.com/outerspacious-1972-plymouth-satellite-wagon/ On his way back to Houston from here, he swung by and decided to buy it. I forget what he paid but it was 3k plus as I recall. It had the 150 hp 318/904 in it and actually...

Rear Spring Selection for '72 Satellite Wagon with 440

I'm in the process of helping my son drop a 440 into his wagon that had a 318 in it originally. The rear springs have lost most of their arch and will need to be replaced along with most stuff that is original. This car, in theory, will be a cruiser so I don't want to get too carried away but...
