I have a 74 charger with a 440... trying to figure out what the best initial timing and total timing would be for it.
Has a Holley Sniper EFI installed with 1" spacer
MSD 6al box, blaster 2 coil, distributor and MSD plug wires
Stealth Aluminum heads (440source)
Comp cams Part# 21-227-4...
I used Dupli-color corporate blue on my Chargers 440, turned out very nice. On my Trans Am however, KBS Seal makes an 'engine coater' that i used which i believe is better still. The Pontiac color was spot on. Also plan to use their XTC header paint for its exhaust manifolds although mine are...
Congrats on wedding... i am not a purist, however i'm afraid of hell, i would stick to a chevy in a chevy a ford in a ford and a mopar in a mopar. Having said that consider a 5.7 HEMI with Eagle heads... off the bat 395HP, very easy to modify and boost, EFI, reliable... my 2008 Chrysler Aspen...
Sounds like my setup. The way i did Sniper EFI, is that i installed a fuel pressure regulator (with return) in the engine bay with the return connected to it. On the tank i vented it using a roll over valve. So i have 1 line running from the tank to fuel pump to fuel pressure regulator to...
I bought everything they had at detroit muscle for my 74SE, very happy with the quality, did not compare to the old stuff, so not sure how close to originals... but overall good stuff.
Milodon, Moroso and Moser Engineering make wheel studs for the rear & front, personally i am using the Moser for the back cause the knurl is .685, 10 thousands over stock. Since we have to push the stock ones out, and some metal is lost and/or moves around, i figured something a little larger...
MoparKrazed my advice, don't be too in a hurry to buy it... take your time and look around, you don't want to end up with a project that is going to cost you time and money and wear you out looking for parts. If you buy a car missing the engine, trans, interior, you have to add all of that up to...
Walmart sells these small tool kits with generic tools, 40 bux, worth keeping one in the car. Also jumper cables, a good jack and fix-a-flat for those nights when its pouring rain and you just don't feel like changing a tire...
Not sure on the years, if i remember correctly (old age and all that) but i have seen both pressed and screwed. My 1974 Charger SE has screwed in balljoints, need a special socket to remove them. I also have 1 that is the pressed kind i never used.
Nice 73 :) your wheel openings are exactly what i am looking for. Both front and back, awesome job man...
So, from what i gather... now thinking of the following...
Front: 225 55/60 - R17
Rear: 275 55/60 - R17
Don't want to go over 275, some claim that is the max on a 17x8 rim... don't want the...
