If you’ve replaced any of the wiring harnesses in your car who did you buy from?

Replaced everything and was from M&H. I will add, I contacted their customer service a couple of times with questions and found them to be excellent. Very little wait time and super responsive. The customer service on something like this is valuable when questions come up. Their kit for the...

    M H dash harness

I just went through the dash wiring myself on a '70 RR. The wires you mention ARE for the Charger headlight and not used for the RR. But according to M&H, they are HOT! You must tape them off or you they will cause a short. Also do not cut the ring terminal off. I would suggest you call M&H...

Lower dash steering column cover - 70' B body Rallye dash

To close this out. I used an original different color cover panel and painted it black. There still is slight evidence of the crack at the bottom. The fit was much better and especially along the sides. Compare this to the picture on the first post. The original will still not go flush to the...

Lower dash steering column cover - 70' B body Rallye dash

Thanks I will give it a shot. The original I have that is cracked, fits quite a bit better on the sides but still just a bit short. The repop is a mess. I'll give the original a shot of SEM black and see if I can adjust. Both covers have alignment pins on the back which will limit the upward...

Lower dash steering column cover - 70' B body Rallye dash

According to all of the parts sites, the one I have is correct for a rallye dash. See attached. The first is a Rallye dash and the second is for Non rallye. Plus in my picture, the opening matches the opening in the dash panels. Using the non Rallye piece, it would not match up. The nut clips...

Lower dash steering column cover - 70' B body Rallye dash

I bought a repop cover and it has a gap of about 1/8" from the lower dash panels. See orange circle in picture. I compared it to a broken original and mounts the same. No real way to get this wrong. Is this normal? It is semi flush at the bottom and not bad.

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

BTW, now that the dash pad issue is solved, time to install the dash! Once installed, the fit to the A pillar was a bit different on either side due to the dash being off centered by an 1/8" or so. It was a very tight fit and no changing that. Moving on....

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

Good news and found a solution! It turns out the pad that was too short was a repop that I had bought in 2019. It wasn't a recover job and I guess my memory isn't what it used to be. I complained about the fit and was able to return. They said they hadn't had any complains in the past about the...

Muffler identification help needed - Hemi replacement

I talked with Gardner exhaust and also about the hemi mufflers I had and if he knew anything about those. He said Mitchell Motor Parts had those made by a muffler company back in the day. He said they were reproductions of the hemi muffler and fit and worked like the hemi muffler. But was never...

Muffler identification help needed - Hemi replacement

So maybe the markings on these mufflers are not exactly the same as they were when the cars came from the factory in 1970. But maybe are what Mopar replacement mufflers look like a couple of decades later. That's good enough for me!

Muffler identification help needed - Hemi replacement

What is the correct number? I think the part number is correct. Not that worried about it but have had these for years and really don't want to spend $$ on a new ones. Just curious if anyone knew anything about that muffler?

Muffler identification help needed - Hemi replacement

I found this old thread and have the exact same muffler and markings as in the first pic. These were bought from Mitchell Motor Parts 20+ years ago. They were literately on a fire sale because they have cosmetic damage that can be seen. Does anybody know anything about these? Maybe an early...

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

Will do. I think the goal will be to make the filler piece bridge the gap and so not to draw your eye to it so quickly. Damage control....... I can't wait and need to get the dash in to keep the project going. If I were looking to buy a new dash pad, first thing i would ask is how long the pad...

'70 Road Runner steering column support brace holes

I cannot remember what these holes are for. Circled in orange. Just about to install dash in the car and would sure like to know before it is too late. The one on the left is threaded and the one on the rights is just a slot. Any help and or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

An update on this. I found a dash pad that was not original to the car but was in the car when I bought it. Not in great shape but is 52-1/2" long!!! Exactly 1/2" longer than the repro dash I have now. That would make the fit much. much better. But the other big difference is that triangular...

    Comp cams any good?

A local race engine builder only uses roller cams now and even for street engines. The metallurgy with roller cams is much better than with flat tappet cams which is hit or miss. Not so much the case decades ago, but true now.

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

Thanks for the pics and that helps explain the situation. Yeah, looks like even in the best case scenario, not a great fit. I figure my pad is overall a 1/2" short but will just have to live with it. I'll futz around with the A pillar part and see if there is any help there. I just was not...

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

Thanks Mike! I feel better now, sort of. I might see how I can compensate a bit. But yeah, not great. I don't really know where that pad came from but only know that it was recovered. Thank you for the input on this. I wonder if the factory fit was any better? I had to grind out the holes in...

Dash pad fit to A pillar - 70 RR

I am not familiar on how well the dash pad fits into the A pillar molding for this year. Attached is what the fit looks like on my '70 RR. That is some kind of ugly. Dash pad was recovered by Just Dashes about 7 years ago. I have both original and repop A pillar moldings and both fit exactly the...
