1965 Plymouth Satellite Convertible
Solid California car disassembled. Original small block automatic. Set up for 383/4 speed. All trim and emblems good condition. Got the wheel moldings and correct emblems from Charlie Quarters.
1964 383 ran good in my 1964 dodge. 1969 A833. Magnum 500...
Hope I can mine into the paint booth within 2 years. What color are you going with?
Mine has red interior so I’m kinda stuck with white, black or red.
Will you try the convertible top yourself?
Your 65 looks great!
My 65 satellite convertible. The braces appear to be adjustable and removable.I would unbolt and remove if you need to do bodywork. Looks like the thing you’re talking about is there to avoid metal on metal.
Please keep us updated with pics throughout process. Gonna be awesome!
I’m going with 383 4 speed in my 1965 satellite convertible with factory exhaust manifolds. Maybe will do a newer hemi swap someday. I’m think you’re right on the bang for the buck with hellcat vs. a 426 hemi or 440 build...
What transmission will you be using? The trans tunnel and crossmember may also need to be modified. Will be a big expensive project. It will also be really cool. Probably easier to build a fuel injected 440 or 426 hemi and add an aftermarket AC kit. Keep us posted.
Pictures when you get a chance. I’m hoping to get started on my 65 satellite convertible soon. Was a 318/auto. Converting to a 383/4speed. Will be black with black top and red interior. Not that rare but building the way I want it.
Sounds like a plan. Always need to adapt with these mopars. You’ll also get a bit better weight transfer by pushing engine back. Have fun and keep us posted.
On the bright side you should be able to resell without much trouble.
I’m just gonna run the cast iron stret street wedge exhaust manifolds on my 65 383. But headers sound so damn good…
Best bet is to call TTI on Monday. From what I’ve read there is a definite difference in headers for early b bodies. TTI is a very good company. I think if they don’t list the specific year under that part number it probably won’t work.
