Morning! I am looking to replace the fuel cell and put the tank back on my 71 Roadrunner. I have the new tank but there is no neck. Can someone please let me know what angle I need? It fills under the license plate.
Also if there is anything special I should know about hooking the gauge up, I'd...
Good morning Ray70Chrg. My master cylinder was leaking and the leak was inside the car under the carpet. When I pulled the MC off, the bushing inside was shot. A new MC is not very expensive and it is fairly straightforward to bench bleed before installing. Make sure you get new gaskets, maybe a...
Good Morning!
I am hoping someone can give me a hand. I am looking for a master cylinder boot retainer. It is the hard plastic piece that holds the boot to keep the dust and dirt out of the manual brake system. If anyone has one I can buy or can point me to one I would be very grateful.

Hello again... Been chasing my brake issue and found brake fluid at the firewall coming from the MC. Before I pull this thing off and try to replace it, is there a gasket at the firewall? The replacement didn't come with one and I don't want to start this if I can't just finish it.

The light never worked since I picked up the car. There is no radio and the heater controls all work with no issue. I don't have a gauge to test the fuses but am willing to give it a shot. Thoughts on where I can grab something cheap? This is all very new to me so I am learning as I go.
My lights are out on my dash and it's not the fuses (they were all replaced). I am attempting to remove the cluster to get to the bulbs and replace those but do I need to drop the steering column to get it out? It looks like yes, but is there anything else I should pull/remove while I'm at it...
I just need the parts that attach the cable to the shoes. I found them on YearOne.com but they are on back order with no ETA on when they will be available.
Hello, I am looking for the levers to attach my parking brake cables to the rear 11" drum shoes. Does anyone have these or know where I can get the right part?
Sorry to say I am still working on my brakes. I have replaced the hoses and lines for the front as well as the distribution block/proportioning valve. Bless the MC and got through the rear brakes. The rear brakes are in good shape but I am only getting a trickle of brake fluid from the front...
Hey everyone. I am working on the trim for my 71 RR and there is no stripping on the trunk. Can someone please post a pic of what this should look like on the car so I can make sure I orient the stripping correctly. I have attached a picture of what I am working with.
No DOT 5 that I am aware of. I think the hoses are shot that run between the metal line and drums. Ordered replacement pieces so now I wait. I really appreciate all the help.
Nope. MC looks dry. Just got to the front brakes and the passenger side is not draining even with the vacuum pump. I was able to get fluid when pumping the brakes but now they are at the floor. I'm sure that means I need to start over, right?
Quick update no fluid leaks from front pass or...
My sequence would be passenger rear, driver rear, pass front, driver front. Pass rear has no air coming from it. Driver rear seems to be full of air. The brakes are soft on the first pump but really firm after that and almost no travel. Can't get past the driver rear.
Hey everyone. Looking for a little guidance. I am bleeding my brakes and all is going well. MC has all fresh fluid, the brake pedal feels good but I'm still getting air from the line (going into hour 2 of the job). Is this normal? Do I keep going until there is no air at all? Thank you!

This is probably a simple post for some but my brake fluid is in rough shape and lower than it should be. I have a vacuum pump and new fluid to flush the system. My question is, should I still do each tire individually or just go to the rear? Also, does it matter if it is the passenger or driver...
