I suppose the obvious is that no car guy would pass up the garage given the opportunity. The distinction is that some never take the leap and get that car they wanted because they don't have a place to work on it, which in their mind, is something covered. For me, and clearly the majority of...
Looks like there's a few out there! Lots of guys who have garages but just for storage, that's another category that hadn't really crossed my mind.
Seems you misread or misinterpreted the post, and I don't see anyone bragging in any of these comments. No one is out here saying "Guys with...
I've recently had two separate conversations with folks who seemed very surprised that I work on my cars with no garage, or even shade like a car port. I guess I never really though about it, but they were under the impression that pretty much everyone who owns and works on classic cars have...
Not yet, but entirely my fault. Still have not made that call. I was optimistic I would have more free time but no dice. Fully gutted and remodeling my house, and helping my brother move his shop across town (lifts and all) while trying to keep a happy wife haha. I will be making that call...
Welcome from the west coast of FL, and congratulations, you built just about my dream Mopar! Fellow GG-1 Charger owner, but mine is of the '66 vintage. One day I'll have '68 money :D
Next time I am at the shop where my transmission is, I will check that bolt circle and see what I've got. I did e-mail Brewers to see what they've got. Do you think it's worth it to go with the billet retainers they offer vs the cast ones? Not sure if that would help "rigid-ify" some parts...
Brewers sent me a comprehensive estimate earlier in the year when I was planning on doing the big block swap into the small block car, it does appear they have all the parts. Budget is the real thing there, as always haha. I was hoping to get away with using some of the factory parts that came...
Power to weight ratio is huge. Love me some Mopar power, but I do plan to have a mustang at some point. Either a 65 coupe, as light as possible with a spicy 289 in it, or (if budget magically allows) a 67, 68 or 69 fastback in more complete trim with some form of 302/351
Thank you for the detailed response, super helpful! I was looking at the 4.8" retainer, but it sounds like that won't do the trick. The car is numbers matching, so it is the factory bell housing for sure.
I will look into this, if that is true and I have a 307 bearing, then I could get a 4.35" retainer and I am set? Based on another post, sounds like the factory bell housing has the 4.35" opening most likely.
Hey all. Quick overview. Was originally going to 440, A833OD swap my small block auto 66 Charger. Got the motor done, got the transmission done, ready to roll. Since then, I picked up another 66 Charger, factory 383 4 speed car though. Two questions, hoping I can use the existing...
Are you sick of this thread yet? Not to worry, it will be coming to a close soon. The car is nearing completion and will be ready for sale soon. I am actually really pleased with how it looks in nearly stock trim! Hopefully this will make a lovely little cruiser for the right buyer.

Snapped this pic of my brother's '65 Mustang last night while we were moving his cars into his new shop. Really happy with how it came out, so I figured I would share. Not a Mopar so I figured General was the best spot for this.
