I let it sit overnight with the plugs out to let any fuel in the cylinders evaporate, and when I put them back in this AM it fired right up. I think a carb rebuild (or at least a very thorough cleaning) is in my future, though, because I've never had a car flood that badly.

Yeah, the dizzy is definitely spinning correctly.
Negative to both; during my "Crap, did i screw that up?" phase I put cylinder one at TDC (yes, on a compression stroke ) and the rotor was right where it belonged.
I'm crossing my fingers...
I tried the old "hold it all wide open and crank it" trick without any success, but in the off chance that it actually is just flooded and playing stubborn I pulled the plugs and cleaned them, and I'm letting it sit overnight with them out to give any excess fuel a chance to evaporate.
Fingers...
And also Fuel; plugs are wet.
I forgot to mention that I also pulled the air cleaner off to make sure that the carb was pumping properly, and to make sure it had plenty of air and that the new air filter wasn't restricting flow for some reason.

I recently picked up a '63 Fury with a Slant Six, and even though it ran fine I wanted to have a 'baseline' to work from so I gave it an oil change, fresh fuel and air filters, and picked up a basic tune up kit (plugs, wires, cap...
