It’s a winders sidewinder shifter. It was a column shift car but I put headers on and switched it to a console shifter. I put in on by the book just like how they have it. Only thing it I left the old shift lever on the actual transmission. I’m thinking this may be the culprit but still it...
For backstory I have A 440/727 in my roadrunner. I pulled the engine and trans out to freshen the engine up and paint the engine bay. After everything was said and done I installed an aftermarket shifter and got the cable adjusted and verified it clicks into each proper gear on the transmission...
I second this that’s exactly how I did it. I refused to unbolt the headers again so I dropped the column and pulled it back just enough to squeeze the starter between the pipes
I bought a winters sidewinder shifter for my 72 RR and I’ve got the shifter installed and cable routed I just for the life of me can’t figure out the cable brackets for the transmission. I have a 727 and I’ve got the installation kit but no instructions. It’s a rear exit cable and I’ve found...
I’m not sure what heads they are I took a picture of the numbers on them but don’t know if they’re really any good or not as far as performance. They’ve got the numbers 4008457 stamped into them though. If I had to guess they’re probably truck or motorhome heads considering it had a passenger...
I got long tube headers for my 440 and noticed there is a lip on the cylinder head that is not allowing them to sit flush on the head. Is there a good way to get around this or just grind down the head or top lip of the headers to make it fit? Is this an issue anyone else has ran into?
I’ll probably run with the hookers after doing some more research. My plan was to re use the manifolds that were on it but after pulling them to put new gaskets on for an exhaust leak I found the driver side manifold has a pretty large crack in it. So I’d rather get headers for better...
I have a 72 RR with an 440 and would like to replace the factory manifolds with headers. I’ve been looking at mid length and full length headers. It’s a street car with a mild cam so I don’t necessarily need maximum performance. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole and cannot decide on which headers to...
