    Tool Box

Well I found one of these. Local lady was clearing out a storage unit… so I got it for a song. I think I’ll make dividers for it. I feel better having everything in its place than banging around.

    Tool Box

So, I keep a ton of tools in my vehicles (cars and bikes). The theory is If I have it, I won’t need it, and if I need it, I’ll have it. My old repainted 4 drawer craftsman is too tall for my little Belvedere trunk and Snap Ons smallest box is taller than that. What are y’all running for a...

Saturday Night Special (66 Belvedere Base)

Much better! Still have yet to cut and buff it- but with single stage (the best look for black, IMO) it needs a bit to cure before cutting. I have been enjoying the crap outta this thing! I’m hoping to do a little cleaning up this weekend, I’ll keep yall posted.

Saturday Night Special (66 Belvedere Base)

it looked like someone had painted over some old paint issues, so the task for The Weekend was get it stripped and painty the roof. I have primer on it, thankfully I didn't discover a bunch of filler. Just some surface rust that caused the crusty part, and got painted over. Looked like 7 coats...

Saturday Night Special (66 Belvedere Base)

Onto the next headache. No instrumentation was working and the speedo (the only mechanical gauge, was bouncing around (loosely threaded in). Amazing what a little soap and water will do. All new bulbs, new cluster reg, and my teeny emory board on every connector. Also on the agenda today-...

Saturday Night Special (66 Belvedere Base)

alright. I got the front suspension put back together and all the brakes finished... I was going to rush and didn't bench bleed the master cylinder which was real dumb. Every time I want to do something fast, I have to do it again. Because I'm an idiot. Got it registered and running down the...

Saturday Night Special (66 Belvedere Base)

hey yall! I was going to get one of these going to post some progress on the car I picked up the end of last month. Finding parts has been an adventure, but I've had some help. Now, if only I could get that pesky JOB outta the way so I can spend some more time in the shop... it seems to take me...

Trends in project car pricing. What does 12k buy in todays market?

YY1- last Monday. And it is! That's why I drove 1000 miles to get it! I really think the car market is beginning to correct itself after 3 years of over-inflated prices.

    sourcing parts steering/chassis rebuild

Good looking out Padam! I will be checking! I did hunt down a bunch of USA made parts locally- hopefully that helps. The UCA bushings were the only import I couldn't find a Domestic made part.

Trends in project car pricing. What does 12k buy in todays market?

12 is what I paid for mine. Drove from dallas to a little north of Charlotte NC to pick it up. drove it around the block and then up onto the trailer. NOW, it needs some work, but rebuilt engine and new clutch and new(ish) paint and interior made it worth it to me. Everything local had been...

    sourcing parts steering/chassis rebuild

yeahhhhh... I am trying to AVOID buying $18 ball joints made of the rusted fender I scrapped last year. The brake parts i'm getting came off dealer shelves in the late '60s and they aint making any more of THOSE! Every box is proudly stamped "USA."

    sourcing parts steering/chassis rebuild

alright! I introduced myself (and my car) last week and have a question I haven't found a good answer for in my search(es) thus far. Everything under the car is original, which I love. But everything rubber is wore plum out, which I do not love. I have to get the brakes fixed up (which I...
