Thanks for the info, no the studs are not threaded and I can make a back plate. I'll look into the self cutting nuts.

I'm going to have my Super Bee bench seat recovered and I recently purchased the seat medallions to go with it. The medallions can with a two posts on the back, I presume there is some kind of back plate and hardware to keep them in place. What am I missing?
