Yeah I doubt the tubes are bent. I just think I need to set the end play. What exactly is the tolerance?

Is it possible to have the seals knocked in too far? I knocked them in until they bottomed out.

I'm going to go with the axle end play as well, took it apart and seals look fine. I'm going to borrow a dial indicator and set up the rear right, starting all over. I'm using Napa 15460 seals. So should I replace the seals again as well?

Yes, the inner seal. They are installed correctly. I'm going to go tear it apart right now and measure the ID of the seal to the axle and see what's up. Thanks for all the input.

Pretty sure they have 1 lip. NAPA brand I'm almost tempted to use Green style bearings and seals.

Still not bad, for a convert. I would cut out bad and weld in my own pieces, seam seal around the patches, little paint.

I installed new axle seals in my 8-3/4 in my coronet last week... Now they are leaking again? Axles aren't pitted or scarred any. What did I do wrong?

I converted my 65 net to a 4 speed, I have console(needs work) shifter, cables, rebuilt good trans. Looking for trades. Open to any reasonable offers. Only want to deal locally as well
