Aw, darn. That sounds like something I would have been interested in. However, I picked up with a '65 Barracuda on the 25th of February. I think it worked out for the best, as the B'Cuda leaves me a little more breathing room in the garage while I work on it. Thanks for the heads up though!
I was thinking about that after watching a few youtube vids of a guy running a 360 in his '65 and hitting 11's in the 1/4. Ironically before I even bought this car, I listed my guitar on craigslist and had a guy wanting to trade me a 360 for it. I haven't heard anything from him in a few days...
How it ends
Well...since threads that have no resolution are a pet peeve of mine, I didn't end up buying a 383. Actually I didn't end up buying a motor at all. I found this little guy, fell in love with it and brought it home today...
Well, in the words of Rooster Cogburn "That didn't pan out." The gentleman selling that motor sold it about 3 weeks ago. On the bright side though, he was nice enough to point me in the direction of the person who bought it, and the information that he'd likely sell it as he just buys and sells...
Hi all,
I decided that since I have limited garage space, that I'm going to start with the motor first, and then find a car to put it in. What I'm looking for is a 383 project motor. I'm not necessarily looking for one that is running, but one that for sure will turn over, either by hand, or...
Holy
Crap. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started reading this thread. Two plus hours later I have finally reached the immediate end, and man was it worth it. Awesome work and dedication on the DOG, Matt. I along with everyone else look forward to seeing it with paint. Thanks for...
Welcome to FBBO. Nice to see another MoPar fan from the Ozarks. I live in Springfield myself. I don't have any MoPars yet, but as Skynyrd would say, "I'm on the hunt."
Great Coronet
Nice Coro'. I love the '66, and '67 Coronets. There are some cars out there that just look fast. To me those years for the Coronet accomplished that. Surprising since they're so boxy and rectangular. That last sentence isn't derogatory by the way, I love that look, for whatever...
High 5
I agree 100%. I've been silently following this thread for several days, and have to say "well done." To watch the progress, see what you started with, and what you've accomplished, is inspiring. Plus it's downright enjoyable to see just what can be accomplished in less than ideal...
Beautiful Charger
The '68 is my favorite year for the Charger. I can't quite tell in the photo, is that a reflection of someone's legs on the rear quarter, or is that a black on black stripe?
Thanks for the info everyone
Thanks YY1. That's just the sort of info I was looking for.
That looks like a great car, unfortunately it's out of my price range right now. I'm not looking to purchase anything until June at the earliest anyway as I'm pinching pennies so I can pay cash if I do...
Warm Welcome
Thanks for the warm welcome everybody
I have a lone photo, and I have to apologize for the poor quality, as it's literally a photo of a photo. If I hadn't cropped and resized it, you guys would get to see the upholstery on my parents couch too, lol.
Hi, as I mentioned in my new member post, I'm researching a 1967 Coronet R/T. The seller says it's a true R/T, but in speaking with him on the phone he said it's carrying a 440, but was originally a 383 car. In looking at various documentation from yearone, and a few other sites online, it says...
Hi guys, I'm from southern Missouri, and thanks to bedtime stories about my Dad's Plum Crazy Purple '70 Superbee, I've wanted to own some Mopar muscle for as long as I can remember.
I found the site while researching the '67 Coronet R/T. I've learned quite a lot already and look forward to...
