    "CHROME" in a can

Has anyone had success with "spray can chrome"? The cap on the cans look perfect, but the parts come out looking like grey paint. Maybe good looking chrome is not possible from a can..Melowto (or something like that) makes a marker that is good, but broad surfaces are a challenge.

    Electronic Ignition Advise 66 Coronet

Hi Guys; I've had my Coronet complete now for 4 years. Thank you to all the help along the way. I'm back to the well again. My mission was to make the car just as it rolled off the assembly line, a 1 of 373 cars made, sporting the 500 package, big block, factory 4 speed. The engine is the...

    Fuel tank replacements

I know that I'm not in the "correct" spot for this post, but... For my latest Dodge project: I'm looking for a new fuel tank for my "62" Dodge D100 pickup. I believe 61-65...maybe even all the way up to 69, would fit. The existing tank is rusty, maybe too rusty to save, certainly too rusty to...

Fuel tanks for my 66 Coronet

I don't know if anyone actually ever completes a restoration, seems that there is always something that can be improved...or that I just don't like. This is the same car I've asked for help with for the last 6 years. The original fuel tank was questionable, so I opted to replace it ( probably...

    66 Coronet radiator shroud

My Coronet 500 radiator #2582945 does not have a shroud, not sure if the came with one. Is there one out there that fits?

Any thoughts, or info on the "Great Event" of 2020? I'm expecting that it's still on...but probably less of an event

    Contacting Chrysler

I'm thinking about contacting Chrysler for anything that they could have on my 66 Coronet 500. Where it was shipped to and possibly a "build sheet". I think a snowball in hell might have a better chance, but every year that goes by, the possibility must be diminishing. Has anyone had luck...

    Air cleaner issues

I recently changer the original 2bbl carb and manifold from my 66 Coronet 500 361ci. I picked up a year correct Mopar 4bbl manifold and chose the Edelbrock 1406 to pair with it. Definitely an improvement. The original 2bbl just didn't have enough "***", I'm not sure if the original carb (Carter...

Missing Carlisle this year....Please post pics

This is the first Carlisle I've missed in 10 years. If you're down there, let's see some pics. Did we setup a tent this year? I was out-voted and my trip will be to Syracuse for next week.....I have regrets already.

    66 Big Block Air Cleaner

I really like the look of the stock air cleaner...but I'm changing the carb to an Edelbrock 1406 and, as I'm sure you all know, the stock air cleaner doesn't fit. I went as far as to buy another stock air cleaner, with the idea that I'd cut it up. It looks like a lot of work and the results...

    Old car security

I have a couple old beauties, a 66 Coronet 500 and a 66 Barracuda. With my limited experience, I'm quite sure that I could steal my cars with almost no difficulty. Knowing that, I'm always looking over my shoulder whenever they're parked. I'm not a fan of alarm systems...don't like the look. My...

    By, by, 2bbl

I've requested a similar opinion from the forum months ago. My 66 Coronet 500 has the 361 with a factory 4 speed, these all came with the 2bbl Carter. My motor has been completely and professionally rebuilt, I tackled rebuilding this most un-popular carb and vowed that it would run as Dodge had...

Body part interchangeability, 66 Belvedere / Satellite

Just curious if the deck lid of a 66 Belvedere is the same as the Satellite. I'm sure it will fit, concerned that the holes for the finish panel might be different...or something else. I've been here before with my Coronet 500, on front fenders from a 440 where the emblems were wrong.

Quick Fuel 650 CFM for my 66 Coronet

The big block 361 was squashed in 1966 when Car & Driver wrote it off as a "boat anchor" in a magazine article. Same block and crank as a 383, but a smaller bore. That was the end of the 361ci's run in a car, then relegated to the Mopar truck line. My Coronet 500 came with this 361 and I rebuilt...

    Gluing on quarter skins

I'm buying parts for the 2019 portion of my 66 Barracuda re-furb/restore. I took advantage of the Layson's Fall discount and ordered the rear quarter skin. Truthfully, I never considered gluing, preferring to cut and weld old school. The car is in storage til March, so I'm asking for opinions on...

    66 Coronet 4 bbl upgrade

I've completed my 66 Coronet 500 restoration. Mine was,and still is, the original factory 361. This engine setup only came with a 2bbl carb, my goal was to get it to work as it would have rolled off the assembly line. The 2bbl was difficult to rebuild, as it wasn't very popular...and I know why...

    66-67 Gauge Cluster help

I've pulled out and tore down my gauge cluster at least three times now and that's a pain, as anyone that has done it knows. The speedo was erratic, the fuel gauge was inaccurate, temp gauge did nothing and the dash lights didn't work. In total, I've had three clusters to try to get one decent...
