So I went to a local cruise night yesterday. I set up the HO slotcar track thats in the back of my 65 Belvedere wagon. Wouldn't you know it. A couple of kids put their phones down and started racing. Big smile on his face he says that was so cool. After that a few of my buddies came over and we...
So the next mod I was going to tackle this year was disc brakes........until a friend of mine gave me an idea. I bought this track over 20 years go. This weekend it finally saw the light of day. I made the platform and got it together. It does work but it could be better. Cars are sloppy and I...
My good buddy puts on local collectible shows a few times a year. At his show this past weekend he got Richie Stotts to attend. If you don't know who that is, he's the original guitarist for the Plasmatics. One of my favorite bands from years ago. This guy is a real class act. He stayed over at...
I had a little problem with my 8 3/4. The dust shield at the yoke was rotted. c.moo sent me one for nothing. Doesn't even know me from a hole in the wall. Good guy and I'm grateful for it. It worked out well and the axle is now at my buddies shop for refreshing. Thank you c.moo.
I got to meet some real cool people today and they were more than happy to take pics with my Belvedere wagon.
Cherie Currie from the Runaways.
Ritchie Ramone from the....well you know, the Ramones.
This is just a rant. One my good friends is putting together a 318 for my wife's 67 Fury wagon. He's one of the few old school shops around and we've been good friends since we were kids. His father was a well known mechanic back in the day so he was taught well and knows his stuff.
Anyway the...
Has anyone here used freight shipping to get large heavy parts? I just bought a tailgate for my Fury wagon. It's in PA and I need to get it to RI. The guy says he can strap it to a pallet but it would need to be picked up with a truck that has a tailgate. Pallet is 72x40 and about 200lbs total...
My wife's 65 Belvedere wagon needed the single pot master cylinder replaced with a dual pot MC. My buddy traded me. I bought the parts and he did the work. He has a shop with a lift. I did this Rat Fink on his shop door. Wifey's wagon is back on the road.
Things are coming along with wife's wagon. Gas tank is in, new fuel line, splash shield is in. Now for the rear axle. it's a suregrip 8 3/4 out of a 68 RR. After replacing the brakes and the reverse thread studs, I cleaned it and gave it a coat of chassis black. Now that the weather is getting...
I know this is B-body but I have to post. I've had my 69 Dart 440/727 for about 20 years. I bought it from an ex drag racer. It's got some go fast goodies and such. I've been on and off it for years. Last time it saw the road was 2014 (the only time) then it wouldn't start and I let it sit. Well...
I've been back to work now for about a month so free time is lessened. The good this is that I still have a lot of vacation time saved up now. Here are some of my newest paintings.
Graveyard painting on a 55 Plymouth door. I tried for the eerie multiple layer affect.
This one is on an old VW...
I had a 55 Plymouth door hanging around. Now it's our front gate. I hand painted the lettering. My wife is going to put a small flower box in the window.
As I'm sure many of you do, I have my toolbox in the trunk of my 65. Just keep a few things just in case of an emergency. Well I got the itch and decided to do some of my artwork on it.
I just got some new fine line art brushes. What a difference in control. I'm able to do better detail. This was my first one using the new brushes tonight.
It's a shelf to hang up in my garage. 1920s Dodge grill shell that I fabricated wooden shelves for and glued old Mopar ad inside. I had to bang out a few dents and weld some cracks. I'll probably hang it up this week.
