A) The Tang on the choke spring as in the posted picture (it's just an image from the net) as the choke spring heats up and the tang moves downward....it DOES NOT drag the rod down...only the choke pull off vacuum pulls the choke plate open, and...
Good Day All,
Trying to set up a Carter 4429S on a newly redone 68 440 with just a mild street cam.
Moderately familiar with the AVS.
Background....
1. The ignition system is all good. New fresh distributor in, timing set at 15 degrees...idles smooth.
2. Fresh carb rebuild from woodruff...
Good Day All,
So more AVS questions.....
Dismantled a Carter 4618S yesterday from a 440 car. Engine has a small cam, a little porting, standard intake manifold. Runs very well. Engine was rebuilt very recently.
The primary jets are the Standard 120-501 (.101) and the Secondary's are 120-395...
A few questions about Carter AVS jets....
The primary jets in my carb are listed as 120-501 (0.101)....in the CARTER parts book listed as "Tall Jets".....what is the compatibility for these jets? Do you "need" the tall jet for the 3 step rods?
Can you use just a "regular" 0.101 jet (120-401)...
Hello All,
Where would one look to buy carb parts for a Carter AVS 4618S?
Looking for primary jet (0.101). Are these some type of "Tall Jet"? I seen something about that somewhere.
Secondary Jet (.095)
Low Speed Jet #65-0.031
Step up rods 16-545.
Any help or website you can suggest...
Good Day All,
Carter 4429S....On a 68 440 with stock intake manifold.
The carb was restored by one of the recommended carb rebuilders on this site. The carb works fantastic and looks great. Idles great and runs perfect though all ranges of power. No issue. I went through the service manual...
Good Day,
Can anyone decode the numbers on this Carter Fuel Pump? I know the model is 4334 but what about the rest? I did do some searching but didn’t really come up with a definitive answer.
Thanks to all!

Does anyone have any experience with this...will it pair with an unsilenced 68 dual snorkel?
Thanks

Can anyone tell me the model/make of this fuel pump?
No numbers or markings except for the “made in canada” on the bottom and the bottom flange between the screws.
After identification...is there a kit to rebuild it?
Good day all,
Anyone know how to decode these fuel pump numbers...if they mean anything?
It’s a Carter 4334.
The numbers that may be hard to see are “1588” and “759”.
Happy New Year All!
Got a leak at the fuel pump. See photo. It is only leaking at the inlet from the brass fitting into the pump. No where else. Cleaned it, observed while running, etc. It is not leaking elsewhere and running down. Before I forge ahead...would maybe just a simple tightening...
Good Day All,
I would like to dismantle the gas cap to clean it up and replace the rubber seal. As you can see is is cracked. Any tips or hints and also where can I find the rubber seal? Also the spring that is in the spring loaded latch is broken. Does anyone know where to find this spring...
Looking to purchase an aircleaner for my Charger but they seem to be on back order everywhere I checked. Such as this one...
