I pulled the metering rod from my AVS2 Edelbrock 650. It has the number 7037 on it. I can’t find any info on it. Is that a part number? What metering rod would 1 step larger and smaller?
I had just finished a low and slow drive down Grand in Escondido CA. Opening of Crusin Grand. Anyway, the temp went up a little nothing to worry about.
On the way home I decided to open it up a little, so when it was safe, I stepped into it.

See attached picture. According to the service manual this line is the intermediate filling vent tube, connected with a keystone clamp.
When I gas up, fuel leaks from this connector.
Do I just replace the connector or is something else going on?
When I built my 318 engine I installed an Edelbrock performer intake, which is a spread-bore style intake. I then installed an Edelbrock square bore 650cfm carb. I had only installed a spacer but no adapter of any kind.
I was watching Derek Bieri revive an old 50 Chevy also with a spread bore...
I'm installing an Edlebrock performer manifold, 318, and the fel-pro gaskets blocks the heat crossover passage, which is ok with me. But will that gasket hold up? Seems to me that gasket will blow out. Is there a good way to block the port, I saw someone weld it shut in the head, I see...
