In your experience what would a reputable transmission shop charge to remove and replace my 727 in a 73 Roadrunner and fix the leak? ( Im working on the assumption it's the front pump seal). It is a big block car.

I have to pull my 727 for front seal replacement in my 73 Satellite. It only has 200 miles on it.
This is a dumb question but what is the best way? I have heard pull engine and trans together? I don't have a lift but I can get the car high enough on jackstands.

My 727 has only a couple hundred miles on it since rebuild. Drove it last Thursday and no puddle on floor until Tuesday morning. Big puddle too, size of a trash can lid. Seems to be coming from the converter inspection cover area. Its almost like build up pressure relieving itself...
1. Is there any reason I can't use an aluminum mopar perf. water pump in a cast housing or is that a no no. Will be running an aluminum rad.
2. Also what mechanical fuel pump is the best for all around street/strip use? I'm running 870 Holley vac. carb.

I'm looking at a used Dana truck axle to put in my Satellite. Going to cut off the ends and weld Chrysler ends on. The axle is roughly 60" flange to flange. I need to be 57.8" flange to flange to fit the 73 b body. My question is do I have enough axle tube to be able to cut of the ends...
I would like to dyno tune my 440 before it goes in the car, check for leaks, etc. Who would you recommend in the Indiana, Ohio area say between Indy and Columbus. I am about halfway in the middle.
What would be a ballpark of cost on this? I would just like to deal with an honest shop...
Is the 489 case the best? or is it just the most plentiful? Is there any case to stay away from. Whenever I see one for sale the seller makes sure you know its a 489.
