I have a 68 coronet. It came with a 318 & a 904. I have changed it out to a 383 & 727. I have also replaced the rear end, with a 742. I bought a yolk, which measures approx 7 1/2 " from center to end. I still need a drive shaft. I found one for sale. It came from a 69 bee, with a 440 & 727...
I have an aftermarket chrome tube that i need to take out. I tried gripping it with a rag in the jaws of vice grips, by the base, and tapping upward, but no luck. Other than dropping the pan, and knocking it out, is there another trick i might try ?
My trans has the old single stud for a neutral safety switch. I need to change it out to work with the 3 pin type harness. I'm told there is a 12410 long, and a 12410a short. Anyone know how to tell which you need, without trial & error ?

When i bought my 68 coronet 440 model, it still had the original rearend. With 10" drum brakes & 741 case. I've changed it out to a suregrip. Is the original rearend worth anything ( other than scrap ) ? I'm trying to figure out if its worth trying to sell, or if i should just scrap it.
I recently bought an 8 3/4 rearend. With a 742 case. While cleaning it up i found numbets on the side. Can anyone tell me what they mean ? Especially the (72) on the " tag ".
