This can apply anywhere on the vehicle like fenders, but I am working on my engine. A few bolts were painted and chipped upon assembly. I know its easiest & proper to paint everything after assembled but sometimes things have to come apart again...
Curious what kind of secrets do you guys use to...
I am getting ready to assemble my 78 440 & noticed my heads have different spark plug seats. 1 has a tapered seat and one is flat, assuming 1 was changed at some point. They're both 452 heads. Can I get plugs to use on either or do they have to be side specific? Choices & advice appreciated.
Thanks.
I'm getting ready to clean up & re-seal the heads for my 440 and started scraping the VC gasket off. When I went to flip the head upside down to get the scapings outa the inside, this funny shaped dowl thing fell out. Looks like a restrictor for an orifice. Does it belong somewhere? No idea...
I picked up a running 19k mile 76' 440 out of an RV for next to nothing. I have several others, one of which is being built by a shop currently. I wanted to re-gasket this engine & put a proper pickup & pan on it as well as some other bolt-ons & paint & put it in the corner for a future project...
That is what my builder called for. Is it a good break in oil?
It threw me off guard, as I was planning on grabbing some Driven break-in...

A friends neighbor was cleaning up some property he inherited from his recently deceased parents and over the coarse of gathering up large items to scrap he cut up 3 motorhomes that were used for storage.
One had dodge running gear, and they were able to fire it up and drive it up...
Getting ready to mock up my 440/727 into my 71. Engine & trans will be bolted to the K & I'm curious if there's room enough to bolt on my headers before sliding the assembly under the car & lowering the body down. I've measured the best I can and cant see why it wouldn't work but its really hard...
Getting ready to pull the pin on the Mopar Performance black cast aluminum valve covers from Summit since I've got a $25 discount to use. Upon looking at the website, I see they list them as stock height, which concerns me. I have 440Source stealth heads with their roller rocker setup currently...
I searched the forums this week & found nothing definitive as to my question...
I have a 440 being built & am using 440Source stealth heads & also they're roller rocker assembly(1.5), all of which is at the engine shop. The cam isn't radical, a tad over .500.
Cam specs here, fwiw...
I am converting my 1971 Sattelite that was origionally a 318/904 to a 440/727(from a 75' C-body). I got everything I need for the motor mounts, but I ordered a trans mount & when it showed up, I can see it's the wrong one...
Can someone here please give me a part# for the correct mount in a...
