Besides removing the linkage arm from steering column down to tranny, and removing the interior column shift lever, is the anything else that needs to be done?
Moving on to my next project…69 Bee, 8 3/4 rear, what believe to be open third member. I picked up another third member (another open) to swap it out since going down the road there’s slight howling. I jacked up rear if car and put jackstands under the axle. Car is still in park. Removed wheels...
Moving on to my next project…69 Super Bee, currently has a 489 rear diff case, 8 3/4 rearend. Im going to be swapping the “chunk” with a 741 case. The current yoke is bigger than the 741 going in, so i will swap yokes. Id like to install a new seal ( guess its called pinion seal?). When looking...
Ok guys….. here’s my issue…. Looking for a starting point to remedy.
69 Super Bee, 440, a/t ….
Take car for cruise, at least 30 minutes or more. Checking temp gage, it gets to 200 really fast, but stays there while cruising back roads around 45-50 mph.
Once stopped at traffic light, goes to...
No experience doing this, but these are clapping enough to be embarrassing! Started with Lucas high zinc hotrod 10-40 oil, still noisy. Changed with Valvoline 20-50 Vr1, still noisy, installed Lucas Quiet lifter additive””, still noisy. Now considering Driven HR1 15-50? After researching here...
Will a 440 with Hooker long tubes installed, come out if 69 Super Bee, without the tranny? I really don’t want to go through re-installing headers again with motor in the car. Has A/T.
On a 69 SuperBee, 440 motor, presently have electric water temp gage/sender…in the pictures below, the new gage (mechanical) sender is too big for the threaded block hole. But, just above it is a pipe plug, looks like it may fit there. Wanting to know if that plug removed will work for the new...
Has anyone purchased or found a FLEXIBLE oil dipstick tube and stick to fit stock 440 with stock oil pan?
Im not having much luck finding, and want to be sure of proper length.
Thanks!
Crawling under drivers side of 440 motor, trying to identify this 440, and with everything in the way including steering column, headers, etc....the best I THINK I'm reading: 9698880• 440
Cant even come close to finding a number like that after searching
Will a number on a 440 block tell you year and whether or not if steel crank with pilot hole for manual trans? If so, where is this number located? Is the number readable if motor is in the car?
New at this 440 stuff, I don’t know if there are “variations “ of the 440, and if a six-pak intake...
Looking at 69 Coronet RT, has original 440 HP motor with a/t.
Putting my budget together, and if i chose to convert to manual transmission, would this 440 motor have the hole for pilot shaft bushing?
Hydraulic aftermarket kit?
Factory 4 speed clutch parts?
I'm looking for experience converting factory column shift auto to a 4 speed manual in 69 charger.....
Is hydraulic the way to go, or search for used pedal assembly with the necessary linkage components?
Thanks
