Has anyone tried to put a t5 from a mustang or camaro behind a slant six, in place of the three on the tree? I assume a custom adaptor to mount the trans, and clutch linkage mods. Just curious if it has been done, the t5 should be plenty strong.
I have heard that diesel oil has sufficient zinc in it for regular use in flat tappet engines. Does anyone know for a fact if this is true?
In a related question: does anyone know, at what oil grade rating the oil companies started removing the zinc? I have a couple of cases of sg rated racing...
Are there any quality valve cover gaskets available? I've been using cork on original stock covers, not very successfully. Has anybody tried cutting the corners off six bolt gaskets? I sure don't know of any aftermarket four bolt, valve covers and i doubt I'd use them anyway.
I replied in a different thread about gears available in a 300C, and i started wondering what the factory red line was for a solid lifter 354/392. Also, as long as I'm asking, how hard did they spin them in gassers and fuellers before gen 2s .
