I have replied to several here on site about the Voodoo 703 camshaft. The part# they offer now is 10240703LUN and is for the Hemi engine.
The part# I was responding to was 10230703LUN and was intended for 383/440 engines. The 4th digit is different.
In the past they offered the 10230700 series...
Can anyone recommend a neutral safety switch that doesn't leak past the white plastic body and comes with a black rubberized metal seal? I've gone thru several in the past 3+ years and it's always the same leak.
I'm considering an Echlin because it states that it's made in the US to the same...
I'm doing normal a/t Maintenance and adjustments. Did band adjustments and I'm checking the adjustments on the valve body. I've looked at the fsm for the line pressure spring location and it's set properly and I've looked at the adjustment for the kickdown valve adjustment. I don't have the...
Just as a test, I'm wondering if the car can be driven without the breather cap installed and not make a big mess in the engine compartment. This is a 383 magnum with original valve covers and the area below the cap is baffled. The pcv will be working as usual. I just want to see if the breather...
recently I installed a Lunati 703 cam into 383. Instructions said to install at 106* centerline because cam was already advanced 4*. Did the degreeing of the cam 3x and always came up at 107*. Checked with Lunati and they said that was close enough, however, he would advance it 2*. Since this...
Just completed, successfully, the replacement of the rear main seal. It shows no sign of leakage with the few times I have started the engine and let it idle for 20-30 minutes. Before I would certainly see oil trails coming down by the trans dust cover. I got a ton of advice from the "Official...
I've suspected that the trans had some underlying problems for the last 1 1/2 years that I've had it registered and on the road. During street driving everything worked normally and there was nothing to worry about. the fastest I would go was 45-50, 2000-2250 rpm. When I took to the highway, at...
Just pulled Carter afb carb to rebuild it. Also the intake manifold to clean it up and reseal it. The valley pan had lots of oily matter towards the rear portion. Is it common to find a oily mess there? I took it all apart also to reseal. There were no gaskets at all, just rtv crap. 1st time...
new lunati 703 cam, lifters, springs, timing gears & chains. Degreed cam and properly break-in process with lighter springs, then put in proper strength springs. I have no concerns about the new parts and their operation. Started engine, set initial timing to 15*btdc, connected distributor...
Just installed new cam, lunati 703,( degreed ) lifters and eventually new springs. Getting ready to button it up for cam break-in. When I pulled this apart there was no cam button and I had run this car for about 800 miles with no problems. I have read in several threads about how guys have...
In the middle of cam, lifters, spring, the works replacement. Heads still on engine. Putting in a Lunati voodoo 703 cam and their recommended springs which are double and damper. The inner spring has inside diameter of .75 in. I've searched all the postings here and looked in everywhere else for...
I'm in the process of changing cam, lifters, springs, and all the rest. The cam going in is lunati voodoo 703. In all the stuff I ordered from them, you don't get the 3 cam bolts. Old cam is single bolt. To make things worst they haven't responded to my question about what part # of theirs would...
I believe the 906 heads on my 383 magnum are all original. I want to change the springs, keepers, and locks along with cam and lifters. Are the original locks just 1 groove items or are there additional grooves that can't be seen inside the keeper? Thank You
I'm trying to hunt down lifter noise. I've already used the procedure where you start at #1 tdc and check a ex.rod on another cyl.and a int. rod on yet another cyl. then rotate crank 90 deg. and continue with checking rods from other cyls. Cyl. 8 on my engine came up with both rods having up &...
I've been reading and learning a lot about cams, lifters, and other valve related parts. I'm completely blown away by the knowledge and expertise by some of you on this site. I will never reach that level, but hope to gain enough knowledge to have a good understanding of what's involved. I'm at...
