For anyone who is looking for turquoise engine enamel, I bought a couple of cans from Mancini and it is pretty much an exact match to the Mopar turquoise that I had used on the bolt on parts, and that you can't get anymore.
Has anyone ever dropped the engine trans combo out of the bottom of the car using a four post hoist? Could you build a cradle and lower it down onto the cradle, then pull the k frame bolts and raise the hoist?
I said I would start a new thread once I started my new 400 build. By way of background, my Charger is still sporting it's original 361 engine, with a small cam and four barrel intake. The goal is to build a stock stroke 400 which will provide more torque to move the 4000 pound car , while...
Okay how much weight do you have to reduce to internally balance a cast crank engine. The pistons I am looking at for my 400 are 100 grams lighter than stock. Is that enough?
As background I had the original 516 heads on my 361 rebuilt, installed an Edelbrock Performer Plus cam, Performer manifold and 625 street demon carb. I am running factory A/C, stock exhaust manifolds, 2 1/4 dual exhaust, a stock converter and 2.94 gears, all of this wrapped up in 4000 pounds...
The passenger side pad on my 361 had the normal codes, B 361 (1966) and a date code. Today I cleaned off the pad on the drivers side and found these other letters. Any idea what they mean?
I am changing the cam in my 361 and since the front cover is off I have decided I am going to remove the oil pan to clean any sludge and reseal. I'll be doing this in the car. I read a couple of oil pan replacement threads and it seems doable. I kind of like the Summit nylon windage tray...
My 1966 Charger 361 has an oil pressure sender that you can just see in the bottom corner of this picture. I was going to order a replacement. Rock Auto shows that type of sender for an oil pressure warning light, and the large bell type for a gauge. It works fine most of the time but has cut...
My 66 Charger has the original 361 engine. It runs smoothly and has great low end torque. It has become apparent that the valve seals are probably shot. Lots of smoke on cold start up. I believe the engine has 70,000 original miles on it, and there is no evidence the heads have ever been...
Can anyone tell me the exact length of a big block cam? I am trying to figure out if I can swap the cam in my Charger in the car without having to remove the A/C condenser or grille. I have to change the intake this winter anyway, so I will be half way there.
I have bought a 1966 Charger with a 361, automatic and 3.23 gears. It has stock exhaust manifolds and a stock 2 1/4 exhaust system into 2 inch tailpipes. It will have a Performer 383 intake, a 625 Street Demon spread bore type carburetor and MP electronic ignition. It has PS, PB, and factory...
