I freshened up my '62 413 a few years ago replacing rings and bearings on the previously rebuilt bottom end and changed cam from .557 MP solid to Lunati Voodoo Hyd. Stock heads received valve job, Lunati double springs and retainers and Crane teflon positive seals. When installing intake, was...
I finally got around to dropping my fuel tank and could not believe what I found in it - loads of what looks like a plastic film - loosely floating about and lots still semi-attached to tank walls. I don't need tarot cards to see a new fuel tank in my immediate future!
What the hell is this...
My dual quad 413 always has and continues to run hot in stop start traffic, even when ambient weather is not that warm (like 75 deg F). Ignition timing is correct. I rebuilt the motor a few years ago and also replaced thermostat, water pump, hoses, coolant, and 13 lb rad cap. I had the 22" 3 row...
Hi Guys. I've seen a few threads where some have thrown this idea around, but I have not found definitive results or conclusions, so I'm asking for educated thoughts or experiences.
I usually only drive my car every few weeks, and when I go to fire it up, the carb bowls are absolutely bone...
Hey all
I plan to buy an air/fuel meter to tune my carbs, but which should I get? -

Hey all
Some of you may remember an engine build thread I posted early last year - http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?52492-426-pistons-in-a-060-quot-over-413-WTF-!
CR measures at right on 11:1 (old school forged MW pistons, closed chamber 324 heads, felpro 0.040" gasket)...
Saw these on eBay. Aluminium versions of Max Wedge exhaust manifolds. I like the weight saving idea, but I would think there is a reason exhaust manifolds are not normally made of aluminium. Like they would crack. Or melt. Or crack, then melt....
Opinions?

Looking for folks recommendations for mufflers to acheive my goals.
Currently car (mild 413) has a steel factory style twin system with log exhaust manifolds, 2 1/4" primary pipes, H-pipe and 2" tail pipes. It did have the longest cherry bombs on it I've ever seen, but they were rusty and...
I will be soon putting the sump on the 413 I'm rebuilding. It has a factory windage and I have 2 fel-pro gaskets to install. I will contact glue the gaskets on to the block and sump, what, if anything, should I put on the sides sandwiching the windage tray?
Also, I degreed the Lunati 10230703...
Well I finally pulled out my engine (1962 Chrysler 300H 413 wedge) and have it all stripped down, and found two problems.:icon_shaking:
Problem 1. Previous engine builder:jerk:mixed up upper and lower no 5 main bearing shells, so no 5 main and no 7 & 8 big ends were not getting oil supply...
Hi All
I pulled the stock mechanical fuel pump off the 413 today (following fuel starvation issues). I checked the pump valves whilst stroking the lever by hand, and the inlet side holds a vacuum and the delivery side holds pressure, so I would say the pump seems OK.
I removed the fuel...
Hi Guys
I'm trying to solve a general lack of power at high engine speed. Engine pulls like a freight train down low and in midrange, then starts to cough and splutter as revs climb spoiling all the fun..
It has been like this since I bought it a year or 2 ago.
Engine is a stock dual quad...
Does anybody know for sure the numbers for the inner and outer axle shaft seals. I have been scouring the net and seen so much conflicting information I don't know what to believe...
(Currently fitted inner is 470487N which I'm pretty sure is right, and outer is 8133S which I'm not so sure is...
