The rear axle is hanging down to its limit of travel. My shaft with the yoke bottomed out, leaves three-quarters of an inch approximately before the rear joint goes in the rear yoke. Seems a bit tight when the car sits on the ground. How much end play should I have?
Thanks
Since I can't go with a high stall one price-wise, I picked up a remanufactured one from a trans shop. In measuring the taped thread centers I found two are a full eight inches, while the opposite ones are seven and five-eighth inches. Did four forties use such a small odd span of tapped holes...
There was no instruction sheet included. This mount was designed to allow a big block to use the small black k-member. Each mount is two pieces, the rubber one and the bracket, that bolts to the block. Question is, they both are identical, except one has a tube welded into the mounting holes. So...

Thanks

Thanks
I'm putting grade eight bolts in the intake, and hope to lift the assembly by snaking a chain under it.
What do you guys think? I think this engine weighs a thousand pounds?
This is beyond frustration. I had a shop West of Cleveland who claimed to be highly experienced in this engine. I couldn't find anyone local to do the work and any of the suggested shops were much further away plus that 440 shop in the Detroit area only does the work unless they do a hundred...
1967 B body. 440 with a Demon carburetor and a 727 Transmission. I'm considering buying a Lokar cable, any advice would be appreciated. Any suggestion who to buy from?
Thanks
