Has anyone done that on one of these pumps. There are two small rings that are compression fit to hold the screen and I don't know where to get the screen material that would go into it. It is a very thin screen almost like fuel filter mesh. Any ideas?
Just curious if anyone makes a better power steering pump? I have a federal, been debating about upgrading/replacing it. Ever since the rebuild, its been squeaky, its a reman pump, and I still have my original, but cant find a kit for it. I was also thinking about just switching to Saginaw...
I have been looking for either a shorter D-Clamp or taller bushing for my 7/8 rear sway bar, but none, not a single one of these suspension companies out there publish the specifications of their bushings or their clamps, other than the sway bar diameter. What's the deal with that crap. It...
I pulled off my rear wheels today to take a look at the back brakes, and noticed there is not much wear on them and the front shoe has most of the wear and its even but there is a strange pattern on the back shoe. Now, the drums fit snug, just barely touching the shoes and the adjusters have...
I'm curious with anyone else that has replaced the k-frame bushings how many times you have had to re-torque the main bolts?
I have done mine 3 times now, after I have taken it for longer drives, and the service manual says 50 foot pounds but wondering if it should be more then that. Is...
So, I didn't think there was anything wrong with my axle setup until I put on the big 15x10's with 295 50s.
Here is the problem, drivers side has 1/4 inch clearance between leaf and side wall both front and rear of the tire. Passenger side has 1/4 inch clearance on the rear between leaf...
So, it would seem that all the aftermarket brands of rear wheel cylinders for 73 with 11 inch drums have under size bleeder valves. Originals were 5/16, but after market are 1/4 and they also have an extremely long tap into the cylinder. Unfortunately I couldn't rebuild my originals as they...
Curious. my 73 Roadrunner originally had a PS pump cooler on the low pressure line, on a Federal pump, but it got lost years ago, and I found an after market one, and I can fab a bracket for it, but just wondering if its really necessary? I have seen some 340's that have them on the federal...
So, a few of my stainless brake line connections will not stop leaking, and I have added the conical copper crush washers in hopes to get a better seal, but didn't seem to work. Any recommendations on next step or best methods to fix this problem????
According to a guy at year One, the rallye wheels from Wheel Vintiques actually use original reclaimed center sections, as nobody is stamping that part of the wheel. So they collect old wheels, salvage the center portion, clean it up, check it, and if its good put it on the new wheel hoop...
Is there really supposed to be a gasket between the master cylinder and the brake booster assembly? Just wondering because the service manual does not show one, and also does not say anything about installing one when re-installing the master cylinder. Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows...
Question, in the photo here, you see there are two holes on the proportioning valve that line up just above the mount point on the inner fender, so is there supposed to be a spacer here, just wondering if that is the case or the holes in the fender server some other purpose?
Let me know, this...
Looking for new caliper bolts/pins, Jims auto parts has them, but seems a bit steep at 20 bucks a bolt, but they appear to be the chrome plated ones. Anyone else carry these?
I'm curious, what is the best brand of OEM remanufactured front disk brake calipers, Cardone, Fenco, duralast, etc? I would like to know your experience, or should i just get a rebuild kit and do them my self?
Thanks!
The brake restoration kits come with the U-clip, but i have seen E-clip and a washer used as well. I have no idea what was originally used.
What is the recommendation here for the clips that hold the e-brake lever to the brake shoes?
Here are both shown below, I would need a slightly larger...
Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for where to get front (both sides) and the rear flexible brake hoses? Year ones dont appear any better that what i can get at Oreilly!
thanks
Looked around a bit here on the form, but couldnt find anyone that knows where to get gold cad plating redone or where to get a rebuild kit for you brake booster. I have a brake booster for 73 roadrunner, and want to get it redone.
Can someone recommend a place to do the plating and where i...
1. When installing new torsion bars, should the adjusters be fully down (adjusting bolt extended out) or or fully up (adjusting bolt all the way in)????? Nothing referenced in the service manual about this.
2. Should ball joint castle nuts have a washer go on before the castle nut? Couldnt...
Question, i got new 1.06 torsion bars, and the dust boots inner diameter opening is about 1/2 the outter diameter of the torsion bar. so, whats the trick to get these on and over the hex?
