Need some help figuring out what I need for springs. I already know I'm going with ESPO springs. However, I'm not sure what to order.
I want to keep my current ride height, 26" - If needed I could go to 27" (ground to middle arch)
I am a large guy and I'm adding 275 lbs to the driver seat and...
I can get a screaming deal on a set of Hotchkis Leaf springs. Unfortunately they are for a 1970 E Body and I have a 69 B Body. Has anyone made this swap work before?
Here are the springs. I already checked Hotchkis and the two springs aren’t the same SKU...
Can anyone tell me the ratio between the torsion bar adjuster and the ride height? I need to lower the front by about an inch and my guess is that equates to something less than an inch on the adjuster. I would like to get close on my first try.
Thanks.
As some of you know, I have been on a front end rebuild with a engine freshening. Part of this was upgrading from the 10" drum drakes to disk.
I chose to go with the the disk conversion kit sold by P-S-T which is a kit made by GPS Brakes. I selected this kit because it offered a more modern 4...
My torsion bars won't get here till next Wednesday. I need to fire up my engine for a cam break in. Will I have issues if I put it on the ground and run the engine without torsion bars?
I'm guessing no but wanted to ask anyway.
Can anyone confirm that the upper shock mounts for the Bilsteins should look like the following? Basically the two rubber pieces sandwitch the metal between them unlike the original stock where the rubber was one piece?
I need to "splice in" a proportioning valve between the current drum block and the rear brake line. Am I going to be able to pull the rear line back 6" or do I need to cut it somehow? You will see from the pics where I plan to put the valve and how long of a line the kit gave me for going from...
I'm looking for info on 10" drum brake spindles. 11" info would be good also.
I'm looking for the distance from the last thread to the rear face. I'm having a disk brake conversion issue that I need to solve.
Thanks.
So I just tried to install the PST Disk Brake Conversion kit on my 69 Coronet with 10" drum brakes.
I just slid the rotors on and tried to torque up the outer nut and found out it is bottoming out on the spindle threads and the rotor assembly still has at least 1/4" play in it. I even tried...
I purchased the PST disk conversion kit. http://p-s-t.com/i-23162310-front-manual-disc-brake-conversion-kit.html#!year%3D1969%7C%7Cmake%3DDODGE%7C%7Cmodel%3DCORONET%20500
The instructions state that the calipers are installed on the front of the vehicle side of the spindle. I'm wondering if...
Thought I would start a thread for all you to tell me what I am doing wrong during my suspension built out.
I decided that it was a good idea to reseal my heads, change the cam, redo my suspension and add disk brakes all at the same time!
So far I have the engine almost done, 340.
Now I'm...
Has anyone uses the QA1 lower control arms with a sway bar and stock k member?
If so, how did you set it up?
I was about to pull the trigger on a set of QA1 LCAs when I noticed that they advise that they will fit on 68-72 b bodies with out the factory saw bar.
"Part #52308 is a direct fit for...
I'm ordering QA1 Upper and Lower Control arms as well as their strut rods. I need a rebuild kit for the rest of my front end. I was looking at the PST super kit but it looks to contain a bunch of stuff I wont need due to the new control arms.
Anyone have a kit recommendation that doesn't have...
Is my K member supposed to be dished on the bottom like this? It's right in the middle? Where you would place a jack.
Check out the gap between the ruler and the k member.
This picture is looking down the side, from where the wheel would be.
I installed new axles and I can't remember how much play there was between the studs and the drake drum.
Is this much play ok?
I purchased the axles from a very reputable shop who had my old axles so I assume they are the same as old.
I'm about ready to reinstall my front hub assembly. I took a look at the FSM and it states the following for installing the bearing nut. Should I follow these or is it not relevant anymore? I ask because when I took off the nut it was no where near 90lbs.
(1) Install wheel and drum assemblies...
OK, just looking for opinions and thoughts on the following.
I have manual 10" drums at all 4 corners on my '69 Coronet. The current stopping situation is what I would describe as inadequate. I currently augment my braking with engine braking with the 4 speed. I have never owned an older vehicle...
Working on this now. Inspecting my front drum brakes. Took off the hub. Can't get the backside bearing or seal out. Ideas?
Also, the bearings have lots of play in them, is that normal?
What are the thoughts about a set of 2007 Challenger SRT8 Brembo fitting on a 69 Coronet?
I can grab a set for less that a conversion from a place like PST.
