On my 64 Ply, with a 440, and a later 3 core 22" radiator. I'm the one, who ordered and installed one of the 180 SuperStats. With that thermostat installed, a short 5 mile each way drive, damn near burned my engine up! When I got back to the shop...
What's the story on those things? Good, bad, not worth a flip?
Just curious, if it would be worth trying. Have one laying around, guessing one of the 64 model's, clutch feels in good shape. Only thing, since I've measured things out, I'd only have 1/2" clearance from the radiator. Probably too...
Back into my hot natured 440, in the 64.
Once I finally have a clean radiator, and keeping temps within reason, decided it was time to clear the air out. Burp. Open the heater valve, to flush out the air. Slight leak...sure am glad I picked up an extra seal, when I fixed Glenwood up!

Have to admit, this is my first 440. All BBs I've done before were 383s, never a cooling problem.
69 model 440, in my 64 SF. Engine is only .020 oversize. The block was completely cleaned, of course, as much in the water jacket as possible, and flushed out a handful of times.

Any thoughts on using well water, of course the normal mix with green coolant, in a brass radiator? Yes, or no good.
The water I'm talking about is from a co-op well water supplier, in my neck of the woods, all we got.
