I fell victim to the "while you are at it". While my steering column is out I decided to pull the cluster on my 1968 road runner and see why I have intermittent gauges and a fuel gauge that is 50% inaccurate.
Well I moved the switch panel a little too far to the right and I head the dimmer...
Hello:
The antenna on my 1967 Coronet is intermittent. I can tap the base of the antenna with a screwdriver handle and the signal will drop off. I remember back in the day these antennas failed for the same symptom.
A few questions:
1) MOPAR friend lent me his antenna tool, but about 1/32 too...
Trying to help a friend with his first B Body. Bought the car half completed in boxes. I've never owned a B Body with a Rally Dash, so I can't help him much.
See picture of tic tok tach. It seems the 12V terminal is missing? Am I right, or is it one of those "barrel" pins missing? Any help...
Hello:
Friend of mine who is a great mechanic but not familiar with Mopars is reassembling a basket case 1969 Charger. He bought the car with the drive train installed, but everything else was in many, many boxes.
Anyhow he is down to wiring harnesses which were purchased new by the previous...
I volunteered to help a frustrated friend get his 69 Coronet running. Back in the day I had orange box ignition on my B Body cars, but that was over 20 years ago.
Some background
69 440 mostly stock. Ran well and one day just quit. He has confirmed no spark. Everything, and I mean everything is...
Hello:
I am thinking about Taylor 98087 Spark Plug wires. Many of my 'Blue Oval' friends run and recommend Taylor wires.
I have a MSD Billet Distributor and MSD coil. Does anyone know if the coil wire in this set has the terminations (HEI on one end and male on the other).
And just an FYI I have...
Hello:
I am ready to go back to MSD spark plug wires. I recall reading that there is a certain way to bend the boot to get the proper angle before installing. I thought is was something like you had to bend at the opposite side of the MSD logo, or something like that? Can't find the on line...
I just replaced my turn signal switch with a version from slantsixdan. It seems to be a quality product and so far works well.
The original 52 year old switch worked, but it would not cancel left.
So, does anyone have experience with a Cancel Cam replacement? I was thinking about replacing the...
So I spent some time this weekend researching my Road Runner's MSD Street Fire set up and the factory cluster tach (which is inoperable currently).
The MSD Street Fire literature describes 'two types of tachs; current sense and voltage sense'.
From my 2.2l Mopar days of repairing many a tach...
Just when I had complete MOPAR bliss a minor issue leads to a major issue. Was driving my Road Runner around today and thinking about how happy I am with it. Stopped to top off the gas tank and smelled oil. Popped the hood and my power steering return line had split and puked fluid in lots of...
My horn became intermittent this weekend, so I tackled troubleshooting.
I'll spare you all the details other than I pulled the steering wheel and DeOxIt wiped everything really well. The Horn Switch could probably be replaced. I took an emery board and cleaned it up well, and pushing with my...
Friend of mine at work just had custom battery cables made for his 66 Chevelle (resto mod LS1, nice car). Thought I'd pass this vendor along.

Once funds are replenished I'm having this company make a nice set for my Road Runner.
Hello:
I've had my Road Runner since January. It runs great, but at idle a little rich. It is a 383 auto, 650 Edlebrock, Edlebrock performer intake, MSD Street fire ignition, MSD distributor, and MSD wires.
I adjusted the carb idle with a vacuum guage. It was 9 inches when I started, and...
Hello All:
I have a 68 Road Runner, 383, with MSD Street Fire ignition and distributor. Today I noticed one of the plug wires has some cracked insulation.
The car has MSD wires, but they are WAY TOO LONG on the passenger bank.
Any recommendation on better fitting replacement spark plug wires...
Hello:
All of my previous B Body cars had the MOPAR 'orange box' ignition. Straightforward and I knew how it worked.
My newly acquired 68 Road Runner 383 has a MSD distributor and MSD Street Fire box. Seems to work just fine.
I have the manual, but it focuses on installation mostly and not much...
