    Fuel Gauge Grounding

    Can the fuel gauge sending unit be grounded through the locking ring since it is secured to the tank and the tank is held in place by the metal strap? I don't have the clip which attaches the sending unit to the steel fuel line so I am looking for an alternative approach. Thanks, Jim M
