    Fan clutch radiator clearance too close?

    I bought a new fan clutch and was about to mount it and I find that I only have 1/4" clearance between it and the radiator. There wasn't one on it when I got it. Is this enough space or is it too close? Maybe I got the wrong one? Thanks

    I have a 26" rad id# 2996 9 65, under that 59538. 18" fan. I'm trying to find a shroud. All the shrouds i've found have a 16" opening for the fan. Do I have the wrong fan or just can't find the right shroud. It's for a 68' sport sat, 440. Thanks
