When you tighten your fan belts, the v-notch type, including the ones to your alternator and ac and power steering, do you tighten them when the engine is hot or cold or does it matter.
What say you?
Question for the gurus here with a picture below of one of the sets that isn't too bad.
I have some older marker/turn signal lens covers from the 40's that are glass and a couple of them have oxidized and turned light purple, does that significantly devalue them?
So I got my carb dialed in and was out hot rodding,um testing out the new configuration, and did a burnout, and noticed that after a few revolutions and as rpm increase I have a little bit of wheel hop. Just wondering if this is tire related, using BFGs and they have pretty good tread so they...
I think this is the cause of the misfire codes on a 2002 RAM 1500 4.7 I am working on for a neighbor. These are the two plugs from the cylinders with specific misfire codes, but the rest of the plugs are not much better and probably why its also throwing a general misfire code P0300. I have...
I just thought I would mention this and some of you most likely know this but I am sure there are others like me, where it may not be apparent, until I had a "duh" moment.
So, if you are using the stock throttle cable, it mounts to a bracket on the intake manifold and there is a sleeve with a...
Cleaning out one of my nut and bolt bins and came across this lever, guessing its a kickdown, but I have no idea what it came from. Anyone have an idea what it goes to? Its 8 inches to the bend and 3 after.
I got the Thermoquad back from coating and thought I would start a separate thread with it rather then just the throttle rods.
I initially was just going to do the throttle rods, however, after further investigation and discussing the properties with the manufacturer of the Cerakote H146...
Original Thermoquad throttle valve shafts were Teflon coated(the green stuff), however, most I have seen are very worn and in some cases almost completely gone.
Does anyone know if they can be recoated and if anyone provides this service?
Is there an alternative coating that would work...
Does anyone make a stencil that can be used to paint on timing marks? Would be nice to have some sort of stick on stencil that you could then paint over peel and have painted on timing marks.
In my opinion, Tape is worthless, lost my 3rd one today, and I even took extra time cleaning the...
Checking my plugs today, because it seemed my car was struggling a bit at highway speed, just felt lean at higher RPM and such, so I pulled the plugs, and this is the result, which seems too lean to me!!! Anyone agree or have different opinion?
I thought someone had mentioned this in another thread on here, but I was unable to find it, but I wanted to know because
I found a good center section for a large bore Thermoquad, but the two jet reservoirs on the bottom have come off, looks like the white glue used separated and they came off...
Just wondering what everyone with headers is using for their collector bolts that do not come loose? It does not appear that double nut helps, and most supplied nut, bolt and lock washer setups suffer from heat expansion that cause them to come loose. Not a fan of tack welding the nut in place...
I am sure everyone does their checks, but sometimes you forget things and I just wanted to pass along a don't forget to check your car for tools, extra parts, shop towels and whatnot under the hood and under the car before firing it up!!!!!!
I always check under the hood for tools and...
I don't like the fugly plastic red and blue service port caps that are on my 134a adaptors, they stand out way too much and was thinking that it would be nice to have brass ones, like the R-12 ones were, that maybe have a red/blue dot or stripe on them. So has anyone ever seen something like...
I have seen it advertised from various parts resellers, but does anyone know if a 73 Roadrunner with AC had the "Air Temp" sticker on the passenger side quarter glass?
not very symmetric?
I have heard some people say that old MOPARs are not very symmetric meaning that stuff does not quite line up the same on the left as it does the right? I have noticed this while putting my 73 RR back together. Now, with that said, I have been able to get stuff in...
I must have hit a nerve with this guy at Year One today, as I was discussing why MOPAR performance does not produce water pumps with the correct housing any more because I got one that was right, but since then they all use the same housing used for the 6 blade pump now and is the same...
A few months ago, I pulled off the power steering pump pulley from my old pump and to use a pulley puller as it was pressed on. Nothing unusual here with this process.
Now the mystery I went to put the pulley back on a new pump, and it just slides right on, no need to press it, and its not...
So, getting ready to re-install my window mechanisms, and the serrvice manual says to use Lubriplate or equivalent, but there are at least 20 different kinds of Lubriplate, so what is best to use on the window lift plate slider, tracks, and gears?
So i am fast approaching assembly of the car, all sorts of various things will need proper torque, so anyone recommend a particular torque wrench? Do i need two, one that does inch pounds and another that can do up to i believe 185 ft pounds which is highest torque i have seen for my car...
