My speedometer functions normally most of the time.
But when i hit the brakes the needle is going up and down for a while until going back to normal.
I already found this thread with lots of good suggestions...
Today we installed another brand new glen-ray radiator after ruining the first one with a broken NOS fan clutch that
i paid a lot of money for. We also installed a new edelbrock high performance 180°F thermostat together with a new felpro gasket.
Before that we already installed a new...
When i was ranting about the fact that it took me 5 hours to change 1 motor mount and that it's hard to do because there is so little working room
people kept mentioning they can do it faster because they have superior tools and techniques or people asking what tools i have.
Well i'd like to...
I'm currently working in my driveway.
When i have to work under the car it already happened a couple times that i get dirt into my eyes falling of the car.
Unfortunately the underside of the car is relatively dirty and i also suspect the old factory undercoating coming off a bit.
Its also...
Let me tell you something: It was NOT a great idea to put a big block (440 in my case) in that (to) SMALL engine bay!
You can't reach ****.
There is almost no working room, kinda like a modern car.
Even something "simple" like changing spark plugs makes you want to scrap the car.
Don't get me...

The cap seems to be an original mopar part but what about the points and other stuff?
I recently developed serious trust issues when it comes to aftermarket parts. I've seen uncle tonys points video aswell.
But it's a convenient package.
You think i will...
I'm thinking about removing my fender tag (just held on with 2 screws) and keep it together with all the other documentation of my car because i fear it could be stolen and then i can't prove that my car is a real r/t.
My dad on the other hand thinks that if i remove it and you can see the marks...
I'm regularly watching Vice Grip Garage, the guy that drives cars which sat in a field and haven't run in 10, 20, 30 years for hundreds of miles
after doing some basic stuff to get them running and braking.
Well my car hasn't been sitting in a field or not been running in 30 years.
It still...
- Original, Unrestored
- Very low original mileage (15k or less)
- Always taken care of / stored dry inside
- The less it had seen a mechanic, the better
- Ideally from an older person that wasn't driving much
- Looks like stated above & can be proofed
- Pre excessive electronics and computers...
Car: 1969 dodge charger r/t with a 440
Question 1:
Tomorrow we will install a new valve cover gasket on the driver side.
I organised a new felpro cork gasket.
Do i just put it on dry or do i have to get some kind of sealing paste for the gasket and bolts or anything?
Found different advice on...
So lets say
1970 Dodge Coronet R/T 426 3 speed auto
vs
1970 Dodge Coronet R/T 426 4 speed manual
I imagine the 4 speed manual equipped car probably has a higher top speed because of the extra gear.
As far as i know you loose about 10% more power with the automatic but it also shifts faster...
I bought a NOS water pump and thermostat (both still in the original box and mint looking) which i plan on installing as soon as its getting warmer outside.
I know i should have asked this question prior to purchase but do you think those will still work fine?
My plan was to simply install them...
Since i picked up my car from the shop its making this "ticking" noise.
See attached video. Already pulled the valve cover but everything looks to be okay. (Now back on)
My guesses (im not a professional mechanic / sure though):
- It seems like it comes from the driver side.
- It also seems to...
I got a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T

Hi,
Past Weekend i and a friend rented a 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 with about 500hp and the 8 Speed Automatic. I was pretty impressed by its performance on our german autobahn (i live in germany). :D
You always have power even if you drive already 120mph this thing still pushes forward real...
This question is probably very easy to answer for someone who knows them very well.
So what are the technical differences between a 69 charger or charger r/t?
im asking because i am looking up prices on nadaguides and there you can drop in an 440 in a normal charger for example, so if that for...
