1969 RR 383 with classic auto air. I bought an idler solenoid because when I turn my air conditioner on, the idle goes down. Do I wire this to the wire going to the compressor? It says to wire it to a switched 12v but I only want it to go on when the air is on?
Thanks!
Finished the Classic Auto Air install and finally got it charged today. What a great decision, works really well, I think its better than Vintage Air because you don't have to route the hoses in the fender. I'm real glad I didn't go with that choice. I'll need to get an idler solenoid but that's...
I posted this in electrical but didn't get much response, trying here.
Having a little overcharging problem, 69 RR 383 4 speed, all new wiring for the whole car with the MAD wiring. At idle I get 14.4v to 14.5v on Dakota Digital gauges (matches volt meter at battery), when revved to 4000rpm I...
Hey Guys,
I worked on my 69 RR 383 4 speed this weekend. The car was running great before the work. I replaced the water pump and alternator. Got everything connected back up and went to start it and got a click the dakota digital dash blinked and then no power. I have the MAD wiring for info...
Hey all!
I took the roadrunner out for a long drive and this happened a couple of times. I was going about 50 mph and it started bucking, it did it twice then was OK. I got to where I was going and came back and at about 30 mph it bucked 3 times. This has never happened before and was...
Changing the seal right now its a 383 and it looks like the engine builder used silicone where the seal goes into the block. I got the seal out but I don't know if there is any residue RTV up there, is there anything I can put through there to make sure its clean? I looked as far as I could and...
I was having problems with my brakes when I switched to power disc front and drum back on my 69 RR just like a lot of people on this forum that I read about. My pedal kept going to the floor and I would come to a long rolling stop. I did everything to try and fix this, bled the lines at least 10...
Has anyone bought the wilwood master cylinder made for a mopar, part number 260-16793-BK? If so does the lid leak any? I'm sick of buying these cheap MC and having them leak so I want to buy a good quality one like wilwood. Have you have any other problems? How's the breaking? Did you have any...
Hey Guys, I have Wilwood brake calipers on the front of my 69 RR. They have bleeders at the top on each side of the caliper, when bleeding, do I have to bleed both sides?
Thanks!
It was a beautiful day out today so the wife and I took the Roadrunner out for a ride. Just about done restoring her, just need to do a few more things here and there.
Hey Guys, I have a 69 RR 383 4 speed that originally had manual brakes. I switched to power brakes with a Bendix booster from pirate jacks. When I installed the booster the rod that goes to the brake pedal was too short to reach the brake switch. I had the rod lengthened and that worked. My...
Hey Guys, I found a place that actually has the dakota digital RTX-68D-STD-X in stock. They only had 2 and I bought one, they have one left. If you want one go to www.affordablestreetrods.com and get it. Everyone I searched for had a 6 month wait time to get it except this place. I called to...
Well it looks like I blew the gauges in my instrument cluster so I will need to get a new one. I can get a newly restored one for $1200 or wait about 6 months (backlogged 6 months) and get the dakota digital cluster for $1800. I don't want to send mine out to get restored because the car will be...
1969 RR 383 4 speed. OK so I had another thread explaining I lost my fuel and temp gauge, everyone said possibly the voltage regulator so I ordered a new one. I received it and took the old one out but I didn't see where a black wire with an L shaped end went. Does this black wire plug in with...
Just completed the Dash today. Have the carpet and the sail panels then the interior will be done, finally! After that I have to go back and fix some little things and the car will be completed, well maybe, as we all know a car is never completed...lol.
This is for the b-body model. I had to send the radio back because it was not working correctly. They tested it and said it was OK and it may be the cheap thumb wheels. I got it back with new thumb wheels and it worked. They do have good customer service. The radio was a bear to get installed...
Any one ever mount one of these radio's in their RoadRunner? Its a piece of crap but I guess it plays OK, good enough for me. I have it all wired up but I can't figure out how to mount it. If I use two bolts like the original nothing lines up to the front dash bezel. It all can't be held up by...
1969 RR 383 4 speed. I had many problems with this restoration and with all of your help was able to fix them. This morning I brought it to the alignment shop to get it done. Everything went well and drives real nice. I look down to my fuel and temp gauge and they are pegged all the way to the...
