I follow several Mopar channels on YT and have watched several videos on people building 383's, 440's, and 426 engines.
Some people when installing the timing chain put the dots in the 12/12 position and others use the 6/12 position but none of them show how they place the distributor or plug...
I've heard that on the early 426 Hemi, the intake bolts were hex head, and later they went to an Allen head type bolt.
Can anyone confirm this and if so when did they make this change?

I don't know if this has ever been discussed but after finding out that the block in my 1966 Hemi is a factory warranty replacement block.
The thought crossed my mind. What did Dodge do with the damaged Hemi blocks when they were replaced under warranty?

Been working hard on the car the last few weeks and have the engine compartment and interior. I have the interior about 90% complete. Still have kick panels, sill plates, and seat belts to mount. Other than that it's complete. Next week I'm moving on to the suspension.

I have the original oil pump that came on the engine. Is there any way to tell if the pump is good without running it in the car? Everything moves freely and I see no rust or pitting.
