Hello all.
Thoughts on this plug.
The color doesn’t look bad, but all the plugs are wet like this after sitting for a couple days.
The car smells rich at idle, but if I take anymore fuel out of it it wants to stall.
Car is a mild 446. 20 degrees initial and 34 all in.
906 heads. Fully worked...
hello all.
I’m restoring the rear suspension on my coronet. This includes the springs and perches, backing plates and hardware.
I have some RPM, but I’ve only used it on the heater box hardware so far.
Does anyone have any relatively long term results?
I’m looking for reviews on parts that...
hello all.
I’m going to be helping a local friend change the gears on his strange 60. The axle is in the car and I don’t want to remove it to work on it.
How are you guys pressing the pinion out when the axle is in a car? Are you guys using a dead blow hammer and just wacking it out? I’d prefer...
hello all.
Here are a few pics of my 68 coronet (lynch road car) bottom.
I was told by the guy who found the car in the early 90’s that it was undercoated when he found it. He is not the guy I bought if from.
The car was garages from 1971ish until the early 90’s.
Was a drag car that got put...
hello all.
I’m working on a 68 coronet RT tail panel. It was in super shape except the paint was chalky and worn.
I’m looking for the correct red color and sheen that was painted in the “R” and “T” in the emblem.
I’m considering making a custom blend with some thinned Testors model paint and...
hello all.
My “horn” on my 68 coronet has never really worked well.
Today, I removed both of the horns and bench tested them.
One works, marginally and one not at all.
Is there a go to guy that rebuilds / restores these horns?
I’m assuming that these are original, but who knows? I’ve never...
Hello all.
I’ve got a ‘68’ coronet and I’ve got a question about the ignition switch.
Last year I started to have to push in on the key switch to have it cycle all the way to the “start” location. If I just turned it without pushing inward, the key mechanism would slip / not engage the switch...
hello all.
I have a 440, 4 speed application with a factory bellhousing (properly located via dial indicator and offset dowels) and a Hays SFI 143T flywheel. I'm using a Robbmc starter with the .060 shim installed. The flywheel was balanced to neutral and it ably took a small touch with the 1/2"...
Hello all.
The input shaft on my 833 is a little rough in texture.
I suppose I thought it would have a finish on it more like a bearing journal.
I'm assuming this is normal.
Also, what, if any, grease goes on the pilot during final assembly?
Thanks
hello all.
I'm changing my car from a column shift auto to a 4 speed.
I've disassembled my steering column and I have a floor shift collar coming to replace the auto Lever and indicator collar
My question is this:
On a manual transmission column Is there still an inner "shift" tube but without...
Can a stock Starter on a 440 with a 727 be used on a stock cast iron 11" clutch 143 tooth
4 speed flywheel?
Converting the car to a 4 speed.
Using a 2892262 bellhousing and a 143 tooth flywheel.
hello all.
I'm converting my 68 coronet from an auto to a 4 speed.
I'm looking for a pic or two of what a proper tunnel underside looks like with the hole cut out for the shifter.
Thanks,
Rob
Hello all.
I did the unthinkable today. I took apart my 742 to some degree. I haven't pulled any bearing or races yet.
I've removed the sure grip and ring gear as a unit and the pinion gear with the bearing.
I'm looking to install a new ring and pinion.
Couple questions:
1- do I need new...
Hello all.
Have a 446 in my coronet.
Mild build.
Ported 906 heads
Crower solid flat cam 240 ish and .620 lift
3:23 gears
2800 turbo action converter
Power steering manual brakes
Looking for more performance out of this car and I think the HP manifolds are a limiting factor.
I like the stock...
