    B-Body 11" front drum brake backing plate question

    what is the purpose of the raised thin stamped steel piece tacked on the inside of the front drum backing plate? I assume it's some sort of grease cup that catches excess grease that oozes from the inner wheel bearing seal?? When I re-assemble it am I supposed to pack in grease, a foam seal...
