I was digging the old split and brittle grommet out (got a good puncture wound to prove it), and when I finally got it out the vent tube seems to be attached to something inside the tank.
Is that inaccessible and permanent?
Gonna' be fun putting the grommet on if that tube don't come out.
Who's got the best price/quality on these.
The ones on my wagon are rotten.
I see some prices that are wildly different on grommets- $9.99 or $59.99 for the same part!
I want a set that will last, but of course would rather not spend $100 for 2 or 3 little rubber circles.
There are...
File under "best kept secrets"?
I recently bought a junkyard "reese" hitch for my 2000 Dakota.
Since measuring for it was fresh in my mind, a bell went off while I was under my 67 Belvedere wagon.
"self...that sure looks like the same bolt spacing on the "tie down" bracket".
Sure enough...
I had forgotten what a bitch it is to find a gas cap for these cars.
Tried temporarily using the one off my Coronet, but the fill neck opening isn't even the same size.
What can I gat for under $20, or is there a place to get a correct one that's not pushing $100?
I remember now that...

Someone let me hold a quarter mil...so I can pay the tax and buy some gas.
I bougt some 67 B Body 318 motor mount brackets to put my temporary 87 318 in my 66 Coronet.
My "shop" guys are saying they aren't right.
How can they not be?
Does anyone have pics of brackets, brackets ans mounts, or an LA block that they just pulled or are about to set, that they know...
While I was dropping my gas tank, I also pulled the rusty exhaust off.
I noticed the hanger pads in front of the axle were mounted different.
The pass side was welded, and the driver side was bolted.
They looked like the same part, but the driver side had two extra holes.
Would a...
I know where there's one of these that's been sitting for a long time. All parts are there except motor/trans. I'm pretty sure it's a 4 barrel car. Interior needs recovered and door panels, but buckets, auto console and everything else are there. Has both sides new complete quarters, and they...
My 66 grill suround seems to be mounted to the fenders with thin strips of sheet metal that are riveted to both the fender and the surround, then bent into place.
Am I crazy?
How do you deal with that?
I have already broken/twisted all but one.
It seems like they might flap in the...
Anyone know for sure what caps are correct for 66?
I have seen two different styles, and they are different sizes.
I know these are both 67 models but finding pics of 66 is proving difficult.
Finding the wheels with the larger center is also proving difficult.
I have 6 and they are...
I wonder why all the 66-67's with 383, 440 or 426 engines seem to have the badge located between the wheel opening of fender and the door except for 66 440 models, which have them on the front of the fender.
This seems to apply to 66 base/deluxe, and 500 models and Chargers, as well as all 67...
My car has a factory radio, but does not have a factory antenna. It has aftermarket dual antennas on the quarter panels, and had 5 1/4 inch speakers with chrome grilles laying under the package tray when I got it. The antennas look very professionally installed as they are perfectly centered and...
I have a 5th Ave donor car for the disk brakes to put on my 66 Coronet. It has a great running 318/904 in it.
My 383/727 has been sitting since 1974. My plan is to build a 400, and keep the original 383 mothballed.
I am thinking about putting the 318 in the Coronet so I can drive it to get...
Hello. I've been working on a 1966 Coronet, and my brother in law just found a 1966 Sattelite that is the same color. How cool is that? The Sattelite needs a lot more in the way of body work including a floor pan and quarter patches.
I read on this forum that both Auto Body Specilties and...
