69 Roadrunner Project

About this Mopar:

My Dad was a proud owner of a 1969 Road Runner back in 1970 and with me coming along in 74 he had to get something more economical and traded it in. I think ever since I was born he talked and dreamed about this car! Last year he had some health issues and basically had to retire earlier than he should have. Even though he and my mom are on a serious budget due to being scared they will run out of $$ I felt that waiting any longer would be a mistake to find him the car to re-live his youth. We picked this 69RR up this past Feb and had plans to complete by the end of the year. Now this car was in decent restorable condition, I had it budgeted in my mind that we would have to put about $9000 in the car, with me doing the work, to give him a solid driver car to take to cruise-ins and car shows. Once I started on the car I moved pretty quick with the interior items I needed to restore, heater box, dash, instruments, etc.. Once I had the car running I could not keep the vacuum or compression up. To sum it up I had to pull the engine and do a total rebuild, which was not in the budget, but I know it will be right and be a safe solid car for Dad. I am more anxious for my dad to get the car than he is! Wish me better luck than we have had so far.
