!964 Dodge Poenix
About this Mopar:
Got this thing a few months back and slowly working through the previous owners gross neglect...
Honestly some people should be dragged out the back and shot for the way they treat these old classics....
They are quite a rare car here in Australia now with parts so much harder to find than for my '63 deville..
ANYWAY...
She has a lumpy 360 stalled manual 727 and 3.9's in a narrowed 9" with original autodrag CL's.
Front discs were seized, master cyl was leaking, sump had no gasket, only one door would open, seat was broken, on and on and on....
The previous owner thinks you can just stick a manual valve body in "D" (for dumb) and drive away
so needless to say there was a lot of glitter in the bottom of the pan... I honestly felt sick when I opened it!
It's seems ok after flushing about 10L of oil through it but will no doubt need a rebuild in the not too distant future. The oil coming out of the cooler lines had the consistency of thickened cream... MMM YUMMY!
Still a lot to do though, at last I can now drive it after a full suspension rebuild and a tune (new dizzy required)
The Minister for War and Finances likes to remind me how far over budget I am
but hey - you can't take it with you!
