Mom's `cuda.

70 `cuda ragtop rebuild

About this Mopar:

In the family since 1972, this car was my mom's favorite thing in life. It was left as a mess by my father[he's in pic-2]. I was willed the car, at my mom's passing away. Original N-code car, that was going to be restored back to 100% stock[had everything ready for reassembly]........it got a major wrench thrown into the gears of the resto. Now, it's a new 6.4, new NAG1, and all updated brakes, suspension, and driveline. The whole idea is to make it look like it did in 72, but contain all modern components. It should look 100% stock, other than the wheels and tires. The car will think it's a new LX/SRT....but retain the original appearance. A bunch more work has been finished, since the attached link.

Absolutely beautiful! Nice that this car stayed in the family as these are so rare. I had a '70 Cuda drop top 383/4spd I let go many years ago and still wonder why I made that decision! Forever a regret. I have about five dream cars; two of which I owned at one time and one my folks had, but the Cuda tops my list. Enjoy your well done dream machine in a fav color of mine too. Ron H.

Thank you. My mom would have loved this. I'm sure she'll be riding along with my wife and I[in spirit].

That's Puss. Killer color,,,,,really warm.....fit & finish looks Very Dedicated. Black top?
Nice Man!

Speaking of the color. Is that a factory green (Ivy, Sherwood, etc)? For those who poo-poo green Mopars ... they should really get a look at this. Although not same green, my GTX is supposed to be GG1 but it's been red since the day I bought it. I look forward to the day when I can get it backin it's original skin.

I dont know the the Mopar color codes/names......i just dig the tone,,,,nice & deep. IMO an excellent choice by mmissle. I think black canvas would work nicely, but i can see camel/beige happening too.

It's the modern mix of the factory color. It's a very warm[as stated] color, and I think it's elegant. It's a green car, green interior, and white top...as original. It's amazing how much this color changes, according to lighting.
Thanks again, guys.

I don't know why but just started chuckling because a scene from Joe Dirt just popped in my head. Allow me to dork out for a minute with the scene when Joe explodes a tub of lighter fluid/gas with a Roman Candle shot:

Kicking Wing: "That's beautiful."

Joe: "Beautiful? I'm looking for righteously kick ***!"

Yep, sorry ... I'm one of those movie quoter types. ;)

Beautiful looking paint and car. Exactly what paint manufacture and code is this green? I would consider painting my 67 Coronet that shade, my 65 AC Cobra (replica!) is BRG. Your car looks "Ivy" in the outdoor pics but shows different inside.

I'll see if I can find the paint can. Fluorescent lights and camera flash make everything look different.

Although purest hate it I think it makes total since to go with modern technology every chance you can.

Very cool story and car. Love the Green too. Keep at it, it'll be a great resto mod. Oh cool, I see your in MI. Maybe I'll get a chance to see the car someday.

Thanks. I'm sure you'll see it around. Hope to have it done by summer 2017.

Newbe here, you're comment caught my attention since I was just looking to find a '67 Coronet rear panel since I haven't had much luck finding the rear panel for my '66 Charger. The green on the Cuda, did mmissile find the code? That's what I want on the Charger! Oh and I getting closer to finish my '65 Cobra , yes a replica, as our company car here at Gear Head Inn. Look us up and you can see some video, most without body then, and hear it ! Beautiful Cuda !
