It has never been out of the family and it was pretty rough by the time I was Allowed to get my hands behind the wheel.
This has been a difficult 10 year restoration that has only a few more months left. Can't wait to get it back on the road. I told my wife if it's not on the road by the end of summer, it goes up for sale. Had to give myself a little incentive:).
All the work has been done in my home shop, including body and paint. No one else has done any work on this car, other than low end of engine.
Check out the custom dash cluster I made for it, turned out pretty nice!
Well, 4 back surgeries, one heart attack with a 5 way bypass, it's almost ready to drive and then, tore my rotator cuff in both shoulders. Full tear in the right and partial on the left. Going in for surgery on the right shoulder next month.
Again, project goes on hold.
10-24-20, Unfortunately, not going to be on the road this year. Surgery on my shoulder next month and most likely 8 of recovery and PT.
I was soooo close to getting it done this year :( Hate to disappoint anyone but, not putting it up for sale just yet:).
One more year, what the heck, it's been 10 already:thumbsup:

Hang in there. Good luck with the surgery. Don’t sell the car, I think you’ll really regret that. The cars not going anywhere and you’ve made a ton of great progress this year.
Thanks, buddy. I've cooled down now. It's only an extra 12weeks or so, I'll git er done.

That really sucks! Well, get your health back together and don't push to hurry up on the recovery. It will take a while. Be patient. The car is looking awesome and will still be there when you're ready. You might want to look into getting a young apprentice and teach and supervise the youngster. Take care and wishing you the best of luck.
good idea about the apprentice but, seems like young guys, here anyways, are not interested in getting their hands dirty.

So close!! All that's left is trans lines and exhaust, then I can see if she runs. However, I go in for rotator surgery tomorrow and it is again, put on hold. Hoping six months from now I'll be able to get back to work on her.
Look for an update in 6
Thanks

Hope the surgery went well. The car is coming along and will be waiting for your return.

surgery went well. Recovery is brutal though, I'd rather have another back surgery. Ever try doing everything, and I mean everything, with your left hand when you are right handed, eeesh! :)

Hey, Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear what you had to endure with the shoulder.
Hoping for a speedy recovery, so you can get the trans lines on the car and get it started up! That will be exciting! Hope you have someone who can eyeball things at 1st start if there's a leak or etc. Always a good thing to have a second pair of eyes.
I see now why you asked me about manual brakes as you went with discs on your build.
Wishing you continued success! RUFFCUT

First time back in the shop since shoulder surgery. Getting trans lines attached, top off all fluids and get some gas in the tank. Fingers crossed, hope it starts!

Son of a Bitch!! No start! Got fuel but not getting any spark to the plugs. Changed the ignition switch, coil(2), distributer and module. Still no spark, checked timing, tore out the new wiring harness and installed the original, still no spark!!
Not sure where else to go on this one. Any one have an idea??

Got all the electrical gremlins worked out, removed ballast resister, to much voltage drop with the Mopar electronic ignition. Started up, cam break in for 20mins, wish I could figure out how to load a video, sounds freak'n awesome!

Most of us know what you mean.

Back at it today. Exhaust system installed, sounds fantastic! Installed a Quick Silver shifter into new console, thank you Swampdonkey. I posted a few pics of the console, you can see the original 65 and the 64 that I eneded up using. I think the 64 goes really well with the black out theme on the car. Minimal modifications required on the exterior of the console but, quite a bit on the underside assembly.
Time to finish up the interior and take it for a ride!

Time to break out the volt meter and trace.

need some help finding another interior passenger side headliner/roof rail trim piece. This piece attaches to the back end of the roof rail and holds the package tray and bottom edge of headliner down. It literally broke in my hand when I picked it up.
It's a long shot but, hoping anyways.
Thanks!

Just my thoughts, but maybe try to repair that piece until a suitable replacement can be found? At any rate, keep up the good work! ruffcut

I've already determined that without buying a complete car, this part is N/A so, epoxy it is
