First "Sports Special" I have ever seen. Awesome color combination. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Auggie56.....I know, don't quite know how I can be sure. I have read about them being produced, and I have looked to see how I can verify that it truly is. I have no paperwork on it from the time it was bought, only the Chrysler warranty and service card and of course the vin number and build numbers. They don't recognize the Sport Special. The emblem is real and authentic, but it may not have come with the car. I think it would be out of the ordinary for someone to just "find" it and tack it on. The one time owner said it was, and out of respect for his age, I trusted his word. He sold it to a shop in CA that restored it and I know little about the shop. What do you think?

This is Very Nice Sputnik, i love the spaghetti underneath, You have it nicely tucked, the burgundy is a bitchen tone.....lot of serious blocking in the body.....these are very hard shapes to block accurately...all the reverse rolls & square edges, slab sides, a challenge for the best, compounded by dark color on flat surfaces.....i know a little about what it takes.
bc....You're in my list of top drawer.........

Wow, what a gorgeous car. Love the colors. Sounds like some interesting history about the "Sports Special" Enjoy it.

Got a reply back from the Mopar Historical. They have no record of a Sport Satellite being produced in '67s, however, they did shed some light on the plaque. Seems they would put a plaque on cars that came from a request by the person ordering the car. An example they gave was a car show, they would put on a plaque that said "Show Special". This makes sense since the plaque script is recognizably from the period and style. Has anyone seen a plaque like this on any B bodies?
