1968 GTX rebirth and updated images

Found a 1968 GTX sitting in a shop since at least 2000. Time to bring this car back from the dead.

About this Mopar:

Here is my newly acquired 1968 GTX #'s matching car. Snagged it off an older gentleman who had it in his shop for 15 years. Hasn't run since 2002, just got it to turn over. Most of the parts have been ordered and ready to get back to the street. Last owner did redneck some wiring and painted the 440 orange/red (will be turned back to turquoise. 3 speed auto with center console and 3.23 suregrip.

Congrats on that great find! Good luck bringing it back, and thanks for saving another old cool MOPAR!

Great starting project. I like the white color under the hood. However, I see stuff in the that's not supposed to be painted. Examples, wiper motor, and master cylinder. Best of luck with the rest of the resto, please keep us updated.

Sweet! Looks like your on your way...
I'd lose that Fram filter, they're junk. Grab a Wix or NAPA filter for that pretty new mill you got, it'll thank you for it....

Yep, this is all being corrected with current paint job.

Fram filter is on for engine break in at dyno only.

I understand but if you have a look at this video you might change your mind. I didn't believe it so I did the same, cut open a brand new Fram filter and was shocked to find the same issue, maybe a bit worse, made a believer out of me for sure. I wouldn't run one on a lawnmower...
