Back in the day, my 2 brothers and I together bought a new '69 GTX 4-speed. Situations in life caused my brothers to loose interest in the car and I gladly ended up with the GTX. The Goodyear Polyglass GT red lines were the only tire that gave my GTX a smooth ride, stayed together during 3 figure mph trips, never once had a workmanship warranty issue and actually let me wear the tread smooth to the wear bars. I tried a set of the Firestone fiberglass belted Wide Ovals once because they were cheaper than the Goodyears. After 3 of the 4 Firestones with less than half wear spit the treads off their carcasses like retreads I stayed with the Polyglass GTs until I sold the GTX in 1977. I wish I kept the car........

Greetings djais1801! I ran F70X14 Polys on the steer axle and the H70X14 Polys on the drive axle the entire time I owned the car.
I never tried radials on my GTX. I believe the radial technology of the sixties and seventies sucked. I don't think the radial offerings then could hold up to a 4,000 pound vehicle traveling 100+ mph for any long distance.

My GTX did not have power steering. The F70 front tires made stationary and slow speed turning a real workout. The R6 scorch red GTX, black vinyl top and black interior got me plenty of girl time. I married the only girl who could drive, steer and shift that GTX.
@multimopes, I just now realized @djais1801's car had vanity license plates. I thought they were regular ones when I first looked. Wow am I slow. Guess I didn't really pay attention. My stepdad used to have those on his cars, but the taxes in our damn state went up so he took them off.
